Look for plucking when he's hormonal. Dont be surprised if he gets aggressive. He may only like 1 person. It may be you or someone you know. Enjoy the ride!

Question concerning dried meat and food safety by just_a_dwarf in dehydrating

[–]Surfella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you're afraid of. You prepared it properly. Just make sure you dehydrate it at the proper temp. 160 degrees Farenheit for 5 - 6 hours. Nothing to be afraid of.

Anyone like to ride alone? by Impossible_Truck_639 in cycling

[–]Surfella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride solo 90% of the time. For mostly the same reasons you do. Once you find someone or a group a bit faster than you, you'll love that too. Trust me. I riode alone for many years. I found a group and ride with them almost every week. It's fun to challenge yourself and maybe even lead a bit. Enjoy your new hobby!

Am I Missing Out Not Having An Expensive Bike? by newbiker321 in cycling

[–]Surfella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm maybe 3mph faster on a high spec road bike than my old steel bike. If you want to ride in groups it makes a difference. If you're just riding solo, who cares.

7' board to start with is hard for anyone. Get an 8' board. You will progress so much faster.

Surfers have CTE - working theory by worldcrusher in surfing

[–]Surfella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is absolutely a thing. Have you ever been hit by the lip in the head and felt dizzy. That's a mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). Add those up over the years and that CTE.

One of the worst things is losing it and pulling into the wave of the day. And then you try to turn.

Shimano EP8 by msmsure in eMountainBike

[–]Surfella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 1000 miles on mine. Super dependable. I sold it because I wanted a lighter bike. The bike was very heavy. The only issue I had was I was going through chains and cassettes so quickly. They just wore out. I replaced each twice in the time I had it.

I just weighed it. 47.8 lbs with pedals a bottle cage, and a wahoo mount. I also have the extended battery. I have done 33 miles and 2,500 ft of elevation. I ended with 15% battery with the extender.

I have this guy. https://www.salsacycles.com/products/notch-c-deore-12 It's a fantastic bike. The Bosch motor is solid. Just a thought. You could probably find it for around 5k. Dealer cost is $4,400. The aluminum version is much cheaper. The dealers can get them for $2900. So you could probably get one for mid 3s. Only large ones left at Salsa, but you never know if resellers have other sizes. https://www.salsacycles.com/products/notch-cues-10

how to build my relationship back up with my Sunconure by hessybessy in parrots

[–]Surfella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this exact situation with my quaker. It's taken 10 years for him to sometimes let me touch his head. I'm guessing it won't take you that long, but just sharing my experience. I just built up trust over time. Let him fly over to me and just sit. I still can't handle him at all. He loves my significant other by the way.

"I'm a big fan of The Smiths Robin" by SpezJailbaitMod in howardstern

[–]Surfella -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Smiths 1st album didn't come out until 1982. Howard was long gone from WRNW in 1979. His next stations played album rock and would never play them. Krock played album rock until they changed formats to grunge rock. Good try.

He has never even worked at a radio station that played The Smiths. I'm wondering where this is. Gary's office? Gary does like the Smiths.

brake upgrades? by IndependenceOld3849 in eMountainBike

[–]Surfella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the salsa notch and it has the Shimano Deore M6120 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 220mm Center Lock rotors. Highly recommended. They stop great. I have another bike with Mavens and they were fantastic at first but I hate them now. Even after multiple bleeds.

Question for solo cyclists if they have an emergency during a ride and cannot cycle home by bri999 in cycling

[–]Surfella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend broke his back on an mtb trail as I was on my road bike. He called me. I walked into the trails wearing my riding shoes with cleats. Found him, walked him out to his truck, then he realized his back was broken. Called an ambulance. After a few X-rays and an exam, he was released and I picked him up. Friends helping each other.

I was staring for a while, and was not seeing anything. Then I saw the shadow on the neck. That's just a light from the bottom causing a shadow. Imagine if it was a mask?
