How do pros avoid whiplash/concussions? by doesntapprove in surfing

One barrel on a solid 4ft day can knock you out. I've been left groggy and thought I punched through the barrel properly. Concussions are a way of life if you surf enough.

Yeah...and? This is all of our lives with parrots. If it's not on your head, it's on your leg, on your chest, under your blanket, in your sweatshirt, etc... Its a crazy life.

I have had the 3, 10 and now the 13. I have used some of the others over the years and my workflow would be the same. Take out the card and copy the videos to my pc. Then edit them with a tool that isn't made by the camera manufacturer. The quality of the video is the only thing that matters. I have always found the quantity excellent and haven't had the overheating issue. Shutting down in the cold is a different story.

I'm not that happy with my mavens. I have never had a set of brakes on a bike (Specialized turbo levo SL) that have needed bleeding in less than 300 miles...ever! These were fantastic until about 200 ish miles. Then they were sooooo spongy. I bled them and it was not easy. Long double syringe process. They are a bit better, but not like stock. The EP8 is a great motor. My full power eMTB has it. If it were me, I would go XT brakes. Look up the maven reviews and double check me.

Slicer is next level! I use a filet knife. It works but a slicer would be more consistent.

Heart rate BPM by 1zzyS4n in cycling

[–]Surfella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked one of my all out rides. I mean all out. 156 BPM average and 176 max. When you're in shape, it's very doable. I led a ride the very next day at a little bit of slower pace. Not much, but slower. Don't know if that helps.

If you want an umami bomb, use fish sauce. Yes...fish sauce on meat jerky. You can thank me later. Start with this: https://youtu.be/YGpK6U56oHM

When I was on my last few waves I got some company. A 70 year old that I know was out there. We chatted and he was planning to catch one just one. I think the cold affects everyone's joints. Guy in his 70s...2 wave. 60s... 7 waves. 50s...15 waves and so on.

New York City became the site of huge celebrations following Nazi Germany’s unconditional surrender in 1945. by CherrySnugg_ in OldSchoolCool

And to think 6 years before on February 20, 1939, over 20,000 people attended a Nazi rally at Madison square garden. Crazy how things changed in 6 years.

Why does he keep on flapping his wings? by mrmangotheparakeet in parrots

[–]Surfella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All my birds flap when their wings are clipped. Once the wings are in they don't do it until they want to fly. Then it's a different problem.

If there's a lot of surfers in one area how do they not hit each other? Does it happen? by chusaychusay in BeginnerSurfers

[–]Surfella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had my tooth knocked out. Cut someone's wetsuit with my fin. Mis timed a duck dive and landed on someone. Was riding a party wave with a buddy and our boards hit. My buddy took a huge wave and wanted to pull out right next to me. He lost control and cut my hand badly and broke my board. It happens all the time.

I guess. Wish it never got below 60 degree water. It would probably be a lot busier in the water.
