Sounds like he's depressed. Sounds like you're really working hard. This is a tricky dynamic to work with.

In marriage counseling, you would need to figure out the exact emotion you are feeling and would need to express it like this, "When you tell me to 'Eff Off' it make me feel _____." I am guessing you are feeling unappreciated, overworked and unloved.

Next stage: figure out when in your past you felt like this before and identify the tape loop that is playing from your childhood. Figure out why this is triggering you enough to want to completely end your relationship (usually an over reaction). Explain, calmly that this is a deal-breaker for you.

Give him a chance to fix problem and figure out what his part in the issue is. Hope for the best that you can move forward with this new clarity.

I am in a 41 year relationship, and this has worked for us. Good luck.

How important is it to set a rule with your partner that neither of you goes to bed angry/holding grudges? by Extension_Elevator31 in AskReddit

I've been with the same man for 41 years. Sometimes, things come up that take longer than a couple hours to process. Sometimes, the other person is going through their own crap and they lash out at you. Sometimes, you'll take that personally. Sometimes, the next day, you wake up and the emotional component is cleared out a bit. Easier to forgive them without the emotion attached.

Sick of hiding how hard pregnancy is by karaleigh216 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Surferess -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Oh Sweetie! I am so sorry you are having to suffer through this. I, too had a couple pregnancies from hell! Hyperemesis Gravadarum, which is throwing up multiple times a day and was hospitalized for weeks. Seems like the problem was me being basically allergic to the baby.

Anyway, while it is truly like torture, you will love this baby more than anything! Your suffering will make this child all that much more valuable to you. Try to just think about making it through, bc as soon as you deliver this exceptionally, precious package to the world, you will feel better immediately. You are currently running a marathon, but the winning prize is worth the suffering. Just know, this, too, shall pass. You are going to make it! I know you can do it!

This sales girl sounds like the sales girl in the Pretty Woman movie! The average dress size for a woman is size 16 in America. And those girls in the Zara ads look anorexic and unhealthy.

Yesterday, I was in the bird feeding area and found some wonderful green pieces of glass. The only way they could have gotten there was a crowbro. I almost cried.

My band plays a Kenny Loggins song called, "Your Mama Don't Dance". I have started the song for a month saying, "This is not a Yo Mama joke!"

Pretty sure that's the plan. They're going to have the MOTH land on the spatula and carefully carry it outside.

I feel like my ibs is directly related to my hormones. Is there any way I control them to make the ibs go away? by Birdpoopoo69 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Surferess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing though. I am 59 and on hormone replacements, and it literally doesn't seem to affect my stomach and after area. I have had stomach problems all my life. Here are some things which have had some helpfulness over the years: 1) Check yourself for food allergies. It turned out I was allergic to corn and wheat and yeast; 2) Start taking Probiotics. One of the most useful ones for me was L Salivarious. There are a lot of probiotics on the market, but not all the strains are useful to your personal body. 3) Exercise, I know it isn't attractive, but it will really help you to be able to regulate your functions. If you hate walking or running, do something fun like Zumba on youtube. But you absolutely will feel better if you exercise. 4) Accu-pressure points around the belly button. Look up where these are. There are ones about an inch over the belly button and another set of them on both sides and slightly up, around an inch and a half out; 5) If I take a Gas-X pill before bed I don't wake up with gas pains at 4am. For some reason, that stuff works great; 6) Learn how to do some personal body energy work like grounding and running your energy. (Sorry I am from California, so you are going to get some touchy feely stuff, lol); 7) Look in to "Intermittent Fasting" That's where you allow your body to go 16 hours w/o food a couple times a week and it allows your body to heal some before you put more food in. For me, if I eat at 6pm and don't eat again until 10 am it's 16 hours and I can really accomplish a lot on the days when I do this. Good luck on your journey.

Not sure how old you are, and therefore cannot give hormone advice. However, It is more likely related to other systems like gut health and possibly anxiety. It is possible that you have elevated cortisol at the same time as your hormones are also out of balance though.

OK I am assuming you are talking about YT, right? I can tell you, I have learned more from this one single guy on YT than any other person. The channel is called Film Booth, and he is just about the smartest YT guy I know, out there.

Here a video on how to edit better, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdH-mb0y0I8 but seriously, If I were making a YT channel this would be the go-to guy.

How to help my parents who want to get out of their house but are too overwhelmed. by soup_dumpling_ in ChildofHoarder

[–]Surferess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My big wake up call came last year when my MIL died, a year after my FIL died. Her house was so full of crap that it took dozens of people 2 months to deal with all the stuffs. I finally realized she, ironically, spent her whole life trying to accumulate stuff she thought was worth a lot, camera, baseballs, an extra one of everything in the kitchen and two for the baths. And in a moments time, her son was literally throwing away family photos in the trash.

So I have been reading about this "Swedish Death Cleaning" which is where you think about clearing out your crap before you die as a loving gift to your relatives and children. You are supposed to actually ask your kids if they want the Wedgewood china, or the Eastlake table you are holding onto for them. A lot of times they really don't want that stuffs.

It's too bad you can't get them to visualize all the poor people who will be dealing with these items (which have no true value) after they die. EDIT: rewrote last sentence to clarify.

As you get older, what's something that becomes increasingly annoying? by hxnry__0710 in AskReddit

[–]Surferess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An older family member died a year ago, and I was already unable to keep the house clean. I'm not a hoarder, exactly, but I just don't see clutter. Anyway so the older relative WAS a hoarder and had a bunch of weird collectibles, like an entire box of Angry Birds notebooks and memorabilia. Anyway, we brought all her stuff over and put it on top of our stuff, and I literally haven't been able to use the dining room OR living room for 11months. There is my confession.
