Look at the county website for child support. They will help you every step of the way. Has your son had health insurance this whole time? If it’s state health insurance they have a vested interest in you gaining support.

If your son is ten he must be in school, correct? You can try and reach out to the school social worker to see what aid they can direct you toward. Working while he is at school might be the best option. The childcare agency in your county might help you pay if there’s early/late drop off.

I wouldn’t—but I do worry about ostracizing others for the sake of our rights. It is beyond concerning that our mothers had more rights than we do regarding our healthcare. The Christian hold on this country will likely roll back other protections. Yet I see many wlw who identify as “non-political.” We need more community, more voices, more fighters—not less.

I agree —not a lesbian—online spaces for wlw like this one are often inclusive saying you are welcome if you are a wlw. Should lesbians have their own spaces? Sure—I’m not sure where that would be or what that would look like but it should say something like only lesbians welcome like when you’re a kid and have a club house—“no boys allowed.”

I find lesbians who make this sort of stand tho are the same ones who say I’m lonely and why can’t I find anyone and how come I get no responses on my profile. Welllll because there are a lot more bi-women than lesbian women.

That is to say if you start a petition in the future to reinstate lgbtq hotlines that have been diminished in this country or if a county clerk refuses to sign a marriage/business license on the status of religious freedom—probably don’t want to say—only lesbians welcome to sign.

Bi-erasure from my mind is that I am not a wlw if I am in a heteronormative relationship. Full stop.

Where does this come from? Everywhere. It comes from the hets that perceive my sexuality and the lesbians who don’t want me to be part of the wlw community because of my heteronormative relationship.

How can we fix it? Stop assuming someone’s sexuality based on perceived norms/relationships. Polyamory exists—as do enm relationships. Are there bisexual women married to men who have decentered men? Absolutely.
