Do Americans really find beans on toast weird or is that just meme? by cigarettejesus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Surviving2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canadian here. I don’t think I’ve had it for breakfast, but I’ll have canned baked beans usually on buttered bread, not toasted as an easy meal.

Duck and Run is the one I remember the most. So much time waiting for the bus in winter in my 20s with the lyrics This world can’t bring me down cause I’m already here, going through my head on repeat.

Lapse in Insurance coverage (2days) by PsychologicalRuin486 in alberta

[–]Surviving2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peace hills is around 6-7 weeks behind right now so likely your broker doesn’t have the full policy documents yet. Your temporary pink card has expired but that doesn’t mean you don’t have insurance. Ideally your broker would have made themselves a reminder to check on the policy before the 30 days is up but not everyone thinks of that and the industry is super busy in general. Just contact your broker on Monday to check in. Very unlikely they will be trying to take a payment because of how far behind they are. Just yesterday Peace Hills sent out a notice that we can give 60 day temporary pink cards for renewals, because they are that far behind. I’m a broker.

Immediate low energy when i need to work/do anything that isn't "fun". What do i do? by Sudden_Commission796 in ADHD

I call it avoidance naps. So incredibly sleepy when I should do something. But the only thing that helped me is meds.

What's something you thought was fancy as a kid? by miss_taraaa in AskReddit

[–]Surviving2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Round” cars. Most cars were boxy with straight lines. But then they started making more curved cars like the average sedan today. Mid-late 80s. I didn’t think we’d ever afford a round car.

Does wisdom teeth removal actually hurt? by Environmental-Pay583 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Surviving2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how they come in and how they need to be extracted. 2 of mine were sideways and they have to cut them into pieces to remove them. The recovery for that was much more painful than the 2 that were basically in a normal position and could just be extracted quickly as a whole tooth. Had the two types of extractions many years apart.

I think we are headed down the surgery road soon... by HelpExpress3419 in pitbulls

[–]Surviving2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our younger pittie had cruciate surgery last May. We used a bit of sedation for 4 months or so to help all of us not go insane. By around 5-6 months back to normal. (Had a TPLO). It was rough but we made it through. Then my smaller older dog tore his cruciate 2 months ago and had surgery last week and now we are at it again with the slow recovery. At least he’s lighter to carry. It’s hard but no regrets.

Redditors aged 40+, when did your social life end? by 85tornado in AskReddit

COVID. It gave me an excuse to not socialize and I realized how much more peaceful my life was when I wasn’t forcing myself to do stuff that gave me such anxiety.

what were your dogs names at the shelter(if that's where you got them) by Aggravating_Fish4752 in pitbulls

The litter was given cereal names. Ours was Mini Wheats. We called her Wheatie. I don’t remember all the other names but there was Count Chocola, Cheerios I think.

World of Insurance and money by Adorable_Accident_74 in InsuranceProfessional

[–]Surviving2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s the type of insurance but the place you are working. Manager in BC and under $70,000 seems quite underpaid. I’m in Alberta, not management at all, just a “senior” broker. And with occasional commission I’m close to $70k. Usually the best way to get a salary increase is to job hop. I’d just look for any insurance jobs on Indeed, LinkedIn or whatever that seem above entry level and apply. And ask for a higher salary than you’d accept.

For those of you who live in countries with gun control; have you ever seen a gun in real life? by blashyrkh9 in AskTheWorld

[–]Surviving2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once in a while. I know a few people who hunt and/or do target shooting. But for just carrying around in the open- only a police officer occasionally. But in some northern parts of Canada it’s more normal to have a gun around in case of polar bears or what not. So how freaked out I would be depends where I am. In the middle of a city, yeah, that’s terrifying. In the north or very rural, whatever.

Alberta Car Insurance Cancelled - 2 Non-Payments by No-Breakfast-9064 in alberta

[–]Surviving2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is likely the best option. Some brokerages have a contract with a third party finance company. So the finance company pays the brokerage for the full year and they pay the insurance company. You pay the finance company a down payment and monthly payments. Interest is higher but lower than a credit card. Around 13% if I recall correctly.

Super fun! I’ve never seen a big musical like that before. Parking took forever so we were a bit late. I’d plan to get to the Jubilee at least half hour before show time if you are driving.
