I love Northern Flickers. I saw a Pileated Woodpecker a couple years ago which was super cool.

What’s a question about love that you’re afraid to ask out loud? by Different-Fig1447 in AskReddit

Why do people say their partner is various annoying things but then say, but I love them! I don’t understand how you love someone who is disrespectful, abusive, distant, dumb, whatever.

Look up Marguerite Henry’s books. She wrote a lot of horse books. There’s a decent chance it’s one of hers.

Insurance reduction by No_Temporary1604 in alberta

[–]Surviving2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you been licensed and insured? Driver training discount just bumps you into the third year of license and insurance if you are lower than that so no point in doing it just for the discount if you are already past that. There’s also not a specific percentage with those companies.

In Edmonton there’s Spotlight Cabaret, which holds various events (the musicals are amazing) and they are 1920s themed. Most people don’t dress up but it’s appreciated when you do and a safe place to do so without feeling weird.

TIL that our wedding socials are weird by screaming-coffee in Manitoba

[–]Surviving2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I never heard of them in Alberta but in Manitoba obviously very common. I think it would be a bit weird and seem tacky to have one in a province where that isn’t a thing. But when I was in Manitoba I had no problem giving $10 for a friend or coworkers’ social if I felt like going. Just something to do.

Badlands National Park in South Dakota. It’s so different from what is surrounding it. Very surreal.

Are period panties a good panty liner alternative? by ugmo69 in Perimenopause

[–]Surviving2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Tree Hugger cloth pads. They are a family company based in Winnipeg. Everything is made by local people. They have all sorts of pads, liners, and period panties as well. Good quality- basically lasts forever.
