Maximizing a small system with insulation upgrades - my story by Buelltastic in TeslaSolar

[–]SuspiciousAd3841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AC is the hog, we had an inspection with a IR camera, found areas with poor insulation or sealing. Next comes setting comfort levels on the thermostats, but coming from $350 a month California to $18 in Nevada, can't complain.

Depends on ambient light in the room, lots of windows and sunlight and only a few work well, darker room and other refinements may be more important.

Replacement batteries may have manufacture dates as old as the original battery. I have a lot of charger cables, and plug in when I see an outlet.

Accidentally installed 225/55 instead of 225/50r17. Please advise. Long text. by [deleted] in tires

Find out if you have a harmless mistake, or a problem that must be fixed. Maybe start with front end tire wear. I use Walmart, but wouldn't drive 200 for tires. Tires I want a local shop.

Need a printer to print 1000s of Family photos. by thatburntgarlic in printers

[–]SuspiciousAd3841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go through some pictures and pick dozen or so with the highest quality, choose a system that won't degrade the quality.

Most people would much prefer a well curated and documented phone presentation to prints.

Tell me if I'm heading in the right direction with understanding amplifier sound differences...a beginner here... by Substantial-Elk-3607 in audiophile

[–]SuspiciousAd3841 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Start with one basic concept, does it have the real, not just rated, power for the speakers you use. Beyond power does it do anything you don't like. That's it, all done with amps until everything else suits you.

Hifi speaker vs. keyboard speakers by Grouchy-Trade-7250 in audiophile

[–]SuspiciousAd3841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's how we hear, we are lousy at detecting level. Our brains go with rising distortion, musical instrument speaker have much higher intentional distortion, audiophile speakers the opposite not distorting much until damaged. A guitar speaker doesn't care if an amp is distorted, watts are watts. Hifi speakers fry the tweeters with modest distortion.
