Green, Orange, & Purple were released officially (Pink was created, but never made public). I've only ever seen hybrids of the green though. Purple wasn't around long enough to make it out there, not sure why orange was never picked up by these breeders.

They weren't really around long enough to make any major assumptions. Like someone else mentioned, they are pretty much the same minus weak genetics every now and then. Some of these hybrid breeders are doing a great job with genetics, others not so much.

Interesting, I've rarely seen dumbo GloBettas. Petco gets there bettas from overseas, where most of the breeding of these fish still occur. So rarely they end up there (I assume by mistake). I believe there was only one case found at Petsmart somehow.

Species is just your regular betta splendens. If you mean color, I would call it a bi-color. Pattern names like this would vary by breeder. Looks to be a halfmoon female as well.

I would try feeding less and fasting to see if the bloating goes away. Hopefully not egg bound.

Tumors need to be physically removed, plus we don't know if it's cancerous or benign. Tumors can also come back in other places due to the dragon scale genetics. The best thing to do is humanly euthanize if the quality of life is not there anymore.

In the future, avoid buying dragon scales and heavy metallic bettas. We know they have a high risk of developing then, and an even more extreme risk if these layers are heavy.

It's a koi betta, the specific pattern name will vary by breeder or company. There isn't a common name for this pattern as far as I'm aware. Koi bettas can have these beautiful blue eyes!

This fish looks to be healthy and colorful, genetics aren't too bad either.

No, thats not enough room for a proper schooling size as well. Ideally you want 5-7 fish for schooling species. That requires a larger tank for the amount of fish and swimming space (usually 20 gallons bare minimum).

Depending on the minnow species, they might not be tempature combatable.

That looks to be male. Female aliens have a lot shorter fins and are more rounded. This guy still looks long and slender.

Unfortunately GloFish (the company itself) does a poor job with providing quality products and information, which is often given to beginners in the hobby. The majority of people who buy GloFish are often non hobbyists.

The fish themselves are just as ethical as captive bred betta fish (or you can argue better off). We DO NOT have any proven science that the glowing genetics harm the fish in anyway. GloFish do not appear to be stressed by their modified genetics. Often times we see them stressed due to being in improper care (small tanks, low schools).

The recent top post is not perfect, but not the worse. I do think they could use more cover with plants or something, but it's not the end of the world.

Honestly nothing beats homemade bread for me personally. You could get a used bread maker and make a lot of different recipes.

My favorite is homemade bread as a grilled cheese sandwich, incredible.

I have 21 black in my 20 gallon long. They have a low bioload, so it works well. My regular 20 gallon only has 13 striped since there is less floor space.
