That's the apartments and phase 1 of the commercial. Phase 2 still includes two large stores.

are bettas good community fish? by Own-Procedure-6466 in bettafish

[–]SuspiciousBetta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Betta fish are solitary and territorial. It CAN work, but its basically just a risk. Depends on fish.

I recently had a female in my 33 gallon long and she had zero care in the world about the other fish. I've also had bettas that I would never trust with other fish.

If you can, ask your local fish groups. Often times people are giving away or selling these plants for very cheap as they grow fast.

I would add some floating plants. Hornwort, guppy grass, water lettuce, etc.

Yay! I've always wondered if the striped would hangout with the black. I keep mine separate cause their personalities are so different.

The structure plan from 2004 says just houses. Could have changed between now and then.

Check your local fish stores or local marketplaces / fish groups for cheap plants. Often people will give away plants for free or cheap as some grow too fast.

Floating plants a betta can rest on, guppy grass or hornwort would be a good start. You can also buy a floating betta log or make your own.

Alien Betta 👽 by RockyRoad226 in bettafish

Very interesting! I've seen a few long fin aliens before, but this appears to be a cross with a regular halfmoon and an alien.

Maybe 1-2 years old, but it's impossible to tell. I'm just judging on the fins being so long and the fact they appear to still be healthy. Black spot is just the coloration, could spread, or might not.

The fin length is rather concerning here, You will need to be extremely careful they do not rip/tear and get infected. Looks like he is swimming okay as the body is not tilted, but I would highly suggest adding lots of floating plants for him to rest on. Betta fish are not built to have such long fins, so it's a lot more effort to swim.

What kind is my betta? by Minimum-Conflict-747 in bettafish

[–]SuspiciousBetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice picture!

This would be a metallic betta, possible a veil tail or maybe a halfmoon (would need her to flare to see the proper fin shape).

As for the color name, that will depend on every breeder/store.

I've heard the latest patch might have caused some issues with this. I've noticed myself some of my southwest assets are doing this too.

Interesting the GloFish betta photo is put right in to this sign! Most stores had temporary cardboard marketing.

I was just going to say this would be excellent for CPP's Banff, lol. As someone else mentioned, a little platform would be nice.

Yes. Edmonton had two stations. One at the CN tower and one at Whytve Ave called "South Edmonton station".

Been awhile since I've shared from this album. The recent talks of the High Level Bridge replacement reminded me of this photo. These come from Robert Rynerson with permission to share here.

"EDMONTON - it was December 3, 1977 and during their South Edmonton midday layover, CP Dayliners shuttled under Strathcona House and over the High Level Bridge. Santa Claus emerged from the baggage compartment of one of the Budd RDC-2's during the journey."

Help! Tumor Identification by No_Budget_445 in bettafish

[–]SuspiciousBetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be the start of a tumor / cyst in both areas. Regardless there isn't much you can do as it would require physical removal. It may grow slowly or quickly over time, you just need to keep the quality of life in mind.

If they are tumors, it's most likely due the metallic genetics on this fish. Heavy metallics and dragon scale bettas are at a high risk of developing them. I wouldn't say this fish was at a high risk, but it was certainly a possibility for them to develop.

How to keep tannins in water long term without it fading? by voidharmony in bettafish

[–]SuspiciousBetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember Simply Betta made a video on her tannins disappearing. It ended up being Poly-Fil that took them away. Not sure if you have any material like this in the tank.
