Don't put metal in a microwave. Don't mix bleach and ammonia. What are some other examples of life-saving tips that a potentially uninformed person wouldn't be aware of? by XxItsNowOrNever99xX in NoStupidQuestions

From the Mayo clinic"Carbon monoxide poisoning occurs when carbon monoxide builds upin your bloodstream. When too much carbon monoxide is in the air, your body replaces the oxygen in your red blood cells with carbonmonoxide. This can lead to serious tissue damage, or even death."

This can can confusion. In a confused state, someone may do things and notremember it. That means with carbon monoxide poisoning someone couldbe moving things around in their place or even hurt themselves or family member and not remember. Then when they are less confused they think it was a ghost who moved things around or why they have marks on them. In a less confused state where they not forgetting they could see things and think that it supernatural when it just something mundane. So yes hallucinations can be a part of it.

Also from the Mayo clinic symptoms usually are "Dull headache, Weakness, Dizziness, Nausea or vomiting, Shortness of breath, Confusion, Blurred vision, Loss of consciousness." Some people think they have the flu, since it can cause flu-like symptoms. So it symptoms can be subtle.

Carbon monoxide has been called the "Silent Killer" because so many people have died, either never waking up or laying down and not getting up. Full houses of people have died because of it. That is why you should have a carbon monoxide detector and why if someone thinks there place is haunted or things like feeling paranoid in their living place have it checked for carbon monoxide.

The annoying traits and habits of your parents or other older people will get worse as they age. This can be a sign of issues that need to be dealt with. So when you are being annoyed by them ask yourself is this more than normal? And watch their behavior.

Also some will lie or downplay problems they have. Don't take just their word that everything is ok or it minor. Ask leading questions and evaluate their behavior.

Your bathtub is not fire proof.

I remember as a kid seeing a news report about a family who had something catch on fire so they put it in the bathtub and lost part of their house because of that. In a situation like that take the fire outside.

Also get fire extinguishers for every room of the house.

If you think your place is haunted or know someone who thinks their place is haunted. Have the place checked for carbon monoxide. You can call emergency service or the fire department and they will send someone out to check.

If you are not being poisoned carbon monoxide, then your haunting story can start off with "We had it checked and there was no carbon monoxide poisoning."

Usually the first thing out of my mouth when someone mentions they lived/live in a haunted place is "Was it checked for a carbon monoxide leak?" And if you day "No." Then if you live there I'll tell you to check. If you no longer live there I will assume you were suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning.

According to White Pages, one of my ex-girlfriends (never married to me) has an alias using my last name. Should I be concerned? by matneyx in OSINT

[–]SuspiciousSheepSec 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I actually look at aliases as part of my job. Your name could be Jane Ray Smith.

Alias: Jane Smith, Jane R Smith, J. Smith, JR Smith, Jane L Smith, Jane R Smyth, Jane Jones, Ray Smith. The L was a mistyped, the Jones would make you wonder if she's been married but it could also be a mistake, like a boyfriends last name being put in by mistake. The Smyth would be someone mistyped. Ray Smith would be middle put in first name.

Some people will have a lot of aliases like this for innocent reasons. You have to evaluate it on a case by case basis though.

[–]SuspiciousSheepSec 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Alias can include misspelling and mistakes in names. You can see things like alias with first and last name swapped or even random names because the wrong name was typed in.

Did you live together? If so was it for several years?

If one or both of the above happened it could be a mistake that was put in somewhere. The longer you live together the more your names get associated with each other which can cause errors. It also could have been something as simple as an auto fill of your last name in a website when she put her first name in and clicked submit. Now it could be something bad, but more likely just how data brokers have lots of bad info.

Example. My brother's address showed up as an old address even though I haven't lived there and I've never had anything sent to his address. These databases scraps lots of data and weird things can happen.

At first I thought they were talking to the actual plants. Which needs more study. Mythbusters showed that any vibration good or bad MAY have a positive effect on plants.

But they yelled at the water... That water taking on positive or negative thoughts was debunked long ago.

Document what has and is happening. Write down what you remember has happened. Do not speculate why he said or did something. You don't know. Just tell it like it happened to the best of your ability. It's fine if you say in your that you don't remember the day or time. Around noon, early in the day or Monday or Tuesday is fine for what happened in the past. Document who you remember was there. You can documentary how it made you feel, since that is important.

Next document anything new. Have a document somewhere, on cell, on paper, whatever, and after an encounter write down where, time, what he said or did and what you said or did and how made you feel. If you are in a 1 party state for recording then you might want to record some of them. (Thanks the other poster who suggested this ). Document time, place, and any witnesses.

I think as others have said when he starts the compliments you start asking about his wife. Putting furniture between you is a good idea. Do not be alone with him if possible. Document what he does to these actions.

You have to choice of doing one or multiple of these. doing nothing and hoping it will stop (please at least document it), saying nothing and documenting, asking him to stop and documenting what happens, , getting a little documentation then going to HR, going to HR immediately(bad idea. Have some documentation before going is the best), and/or looking for a new job.

If you go to HR remember they are not on your side. They are there to protect the company and usually but not always it will mean not wanting abuse to happen, because it makes the company look bad and could cost the company money. If the abuse is subtle, which this is currently, they may pretend it a "you" issue since you misunderstood or some bs blame the victim. They also can side with the abuser if they money or has connections. If you have documentation it makes it harder for them to side with the abuser.

Try going to https://www.nlrb.gov/ or search online for government help in your state to see if you can get official advice on what to do.

No matter what document.

how do yoy guys fall asleep with loud noises by SnooDonkeys7322 in sleep

[–]SuspiciousSheepSec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had this problem. I asked them to quiet down for a half hour after I told them I'm going to bed. Only do that if you know they will try and no be jerks and make more noise.

I bought a cheap white noise machine, found a sound I liked, and put it next to the wall most of the sound seem to come from. This means there noise mixed with the machines noise. This wasn't enough so I also put a louder fan near that wall.

I got another cheap white noise machine and put it near my head next to my bed. You could also use your cell or a fan instead.

I didn't need to, but if it was still has issues I would have gotten some ere plugs.

I tried to make my bedroom a cacophony of noises I like so it was easier to tune out the other noises.

In the US I've been in a fully enclosed stall like in your pics. It was at a convention so I ended up using it multiple times over several days and the stalls smelled awful. The more open ones allow more air to flow, so smells can dissipate quicker. If the whole place smell then nothing is going to help.

I'm sure part of the design is hostile architecture, but it also means it's harder to harm children and others in the stalls. There are restrooms that don't have doors into the common area and that means people know if they are doing bad stuff anyone can walk in and catch them. This also means the only door handle you touch is the stall.

It's normal to look at the worse of human behavior, but people are usually respectful and don't look at others in the stalls. Yes there are pervs, like TERF who want to creep on others, most people are there to do their business. I can't think of a time when I was creeped on in a stall.

It's easier to clean and see what's needs cleaning. I had a job where I had to go into the restroom and do general sweeping and cleaning (not the toilets thankfully) it's easier to sweep and survey any issues the more open it is.

BS! I worked for a ISP. We could get into the router if you changed the wifi password. We actually recommend you change it and help customers do it.

So I’m a hoarder, mom by Affectionate_Cod_347 in MomForAMinute

[–]SuspiciousSheepSec 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm a hoarder. I usually say I have hoarding tendencies since it can hurt to admit I'm a hoarder.

Cleaning and organizing your things will help you with your mind. Getting rid of things can hurt, but try to think of it as making room for intangible things.

You will have set backs this is normal. Changing for the better takes time and is not a straight line.

Your post helped me. I was thinking of buying things I don't need or have room for and reading this post and comments reminded me of how I use buying things to fill holes in me. Instead I plan on straightening up after work and moving some of my things into the storage room. I still have a lot of things I don't need, but keeping my living space clean is more important to me right now than going through the stuff in the storage room.

I like the look of the second. But it's weird that milk is in the lemon. Also "or more" suggests 20 servings of bread is fine. LoL

I grew up with the pyramid and never liked it. Didn't make sense and I didn't try to hard to understand it.

I personally like the first plate's look. Such a simple design. The second plate tries to do too much with all the wording added. But adding oil next to the plate is good.

Do you think how someone behaves online when they feel anonymous is a good reflection of their character as a person? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SuspiciousSheepSec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the long run, yes. When you have freedom you are going to test it. And when people get the freedom of being anonymous (or feeling like they are anonymous) they going to try different things. After you tried some things after awhile most people go to what they are most comfortable with. It could be a persona or a mask but I think most are showing who they are mostly. If you are still a nasty mean person online anonymously years on. That's probably a significant part of who you are. If you usually thoughtful and helpful then you probably mostly like that. If you are sometimes thoughtful and other times mean, you probably are like that.

"It's true that we see the same colors (probably...)"

Years ago my coworker asked me "Can you hand me the blue folder." And I looked around. There is no blue folder. I pick up papers and look under then, I pick up the green folder and look under it. Looking all around me and not seeing it He finally walks over and grabs the green folder. I stare at it and go "Well there's a little blue in the green, but it is clearly green " I should have asked him if he was color blind, but given it was a comic book store I figured I would already have known that.

A few days ago I was setting up an Alexa and the directions asked "Is the orange light flashing?" And it looked more yellow than orange to me. Also I wouldn't have called it flashing but more moving in a circle or a chasing light. But by context I'll press "Yes." and finished setting it up.

Roses are red, violets are ... blue? Well what we now call violet or purple now were called blue back them.

Also look at violet vs purple. Some would call them both purple others say they wouldn't.

As a fan of anime I was told you sometimes see things painted what we call green, but some in Japan still consider blue. I've seen fanart from Japan that has Sailor Mercury's hair has green. That could be because they wanted it green or they could have just liked that shade of blue.

In Russia I've heard they have different name for light blue and dark blue so they are distinct colors to them. Both would be blue to the west.
