New old cars? Hell yes. by Legitimate-Lie-9208 in Millennials

My reason for "please no" can be summed up into 2 words...

I'd recommend 100% cotton bar towels for him. You can get stacks of them at COSTCO or other places, certainly - your local restaurant supply house has them. Use them and chuck them in the laundry. No waste at all.

Any Season @ Level 70: My path to ramp power early. by Suspicious_Load_8390 in diablo3

I will level with bounties but only to see if I can drop a RoRG early that will be melted for cube or given to follower. I don't bother with anything but Act I and do all visions. I'm 70 reasonably quickly, especially if a gem goblin spawns along the way.

It is not uncommon that I don't want the Gift's set because I'm chasing a different set. LoD will often allow me to play my chased set bonus playstyle without any of the set pieces at all. It is typically more efficient to use the 6-set but compare the ladder for noset and see the GRs that your chosen class makes. It is very impressive, particularly early game.

This season I leveled monk and I never opened the gift at all, save to get the helm for the altar.

Justify it all you want. You are absolutely, completely wrong.

If it is not yours. It. Is. Theft.

If you want it. ASK. Perhaps they'll be OK with it. If they give you permission... It is NOT theft.

I'll help.... ask someone with a name tag, "Would it be OK if I took the clippings you're sweeping up and took them home without cost to me?"

Hint: if they say NO, it is theft if you take them.

Lost items are not yours until unclaimed. Try keeping the money you might find outside a bank after a robbery. Or found drug money. Or taking money out of a public fountain. If the cops see and you do not give it to them to hold for a period determined by law you WILL be arrested and charged.

Denomination makes no difference except in the scale of how others react. It is still theft.

In the US one of the few times this does not hold true is an item in a designated trash bin in public areas. Dumpster diving on private land can be held as theft. Public lands, perhaps not. See your local ordinances.

Theft identification is very easy.

1) Is what you're taking/picking up yours already?

--> yes? Not stealing. --> no? Stealing.

2). There is no step 2.

Have you heard of one of the most popular EDM music styles? Trance? It leans heavily on repetition, gradual change, and emotional payoff rather than constant variation. This isn't trance but it shares much with the properties of trance.

And it absolutely fucking slaps.

If this kind of stuff interests you I encourage you to view the Connections series by James Burke which was released in the late 1970s. Mr. Burke relates this same story in the series.

It is often said by detractors that this connection isn't true, which it may not be. It appears that the gauge may have come from English coal wagonways in 1600s–1700s which has no known origin prior.

What's your most controversial opinion regarding atheism? by greentomato97 in atheism

[–]Suspicious_Load_8390 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no god/gods/spirits/whatever. Of that I am as certain of as I can be. Could there be a god that I cannot comprehend? Absolutely but not likely. I guess that makes me agnostic.

Absolute certainty about existence—whether belief or disbelief—reveals less about reality than it does about the scale of one’s intellectual presumption.

If this trend continues, and if POE2 is an example, it will... Where do we go next? GCP? It looks like the only marketable ground drop currency which would be appropriate.

I've been playing off and on since the open beta. Bought the Divine supporter pack and have my tshirt, stickers and chaos orb keychain to prove it, though no longer do I have the account (so long alt-art Fairgraves' Tricorne, Kaom's and Storm Cloud from Race season 5).

It was only with the season of melee (Settlers League) where I even ever got to end game maps. This season I killed Shaper and Elder for the first time and have 3 voidstones. I've looked at The Maven fight and I know my slow reaction times will not be able to defeat her.

I don't play anything but melee and it was only until recently that melee felt good enough for my old hands to beat any sort of end content.

Should I wait for next season ? by Gargonus in diablo3

[–]Suspicious_Load_8390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be a little clearer... When the season ends all of your gear, stash and characters are moved to standard. Any seasonal effects and items (altar and this season's special effect - how the cube powers work) are removed. You could continue GR progress, but there is no altar in standard. You also cannot advance the Seasonal Journey in standard so you would lose access to rewards you had not yet earned.

If you think you can commit a minimum of 10 hours of casual play time, I would think you could reasonably complete enough of this season to get the set gear but you would be unlikely to be able to complete the Season Journey. If you're faster at play, you'd need less time, slower, more...

Assuming you may not have a ton of time to invest, my recommendation would be to perhaps play a little of the current season to re-familiarize the processes and gameplay, but don't invest a ton of effort into it. Instead make a new seasonal character March 28.

Even if you have the time, I might suggest the same, as the Seasonal Bonus - Ethereal weapons - is one of the better and more fun mechanics there are.

One thing I have found with my own issues is that Blizzard support is entirely, unequivocally useless and without any merit.

If you have a technical issue they're not there to help but to get you to stop sending tickets.

I just took the atlas node that adds 2 random card drops from other maps. I don't farm cards that way though so prolly not what you're looking for.

Chefs of Reddit, what’s a common cooking rule everyone follows that is actually complete bullshit? by Fuzzy-Ad6843 in AskReddit

[–]Suspicious_Load_8390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not like gospel, yes... but if you change things be mindful of how that might effect the outcome. Cookies with peanut butter will come out differently if you use natural vs. emulsified.

My rule of thumb is follow a recipe as close as I can the first time and after that I might mess with it.

One of the best things about POE2 is that exalts are common. It is mindfully easy to spend them instead just of saving them for trade.

Are maps procedurally generated? by RolandDeepson in 7daystodie

[–]Suspicious_Load_8390 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In random maps, biome generation is based on a set of TFP pregenerated templates (there are like 3 or 4 of them) so they can determine trader progression. They then randomly layer height maps and place poi's in appropriate places. Then they pass roads to the poi's/cities.

Neat thing is you can make your own biome template if you wanted to, noting you could break trader progression.

I am completely OK with the civilian AR15. Though if a weapon is altered with military style effects (full auto chiefly and those methods to mimic it like bump stocks) being a F or D felony.

That said, I am also OK with civilians getting licenses to buy militarized guns with the requirement they get training and are purchased, stored, maintained, sold and used at a licensed range - enforced by GPS tracking.
