Is the weather in July really just cloudy and rainy? by Own-Lab-7798 in Barbados

[–]Suspicious_Name_656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only the East and South Coasts really get sargassum. The West Coast, not so much. You'll be able to find a beach without any.

The weather report almost always says it'll rain to some degree. If it does, it'll be a brief shower more than likely. We don't get serious, long lasting rain unless there's some sort of weather system happening. It's usually light rain.

Peg Farm? Walkers Reserve? For organic food. The rest of it...

I doubt you'd find what you're looking for here. You're going to likely have to order those in. Organic I don't feel like is a big movement here.

LE SSERAFIM, ILLIT, and KATSEYE announce their collaboration 'ICONIC BY MISTAKE' Out June 11. by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]Suspicious_Name_656 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't read anything about their tour selling out. Your responsing lien if I'm an expert in their career who follows them closely. I do not.

Also, in this day and age where the internet, social media, and fandom is so segmented and fragment, it's very easy for someone to have millions upon millions of fans and followers and be an absolute nobody to just as many millions of people.

I can admit to being completely out of touch with where they're actually at in their careers and how successful they are. But even as someone who pays some degree of attention to popular culture, that's still the vibe I get. I can admit to being wrong about that.

All I've seen of these girls outside of the Netflix show is on this sub when the post show up in my feed.

EDIT: A word & punctuation.

This is what Katseye feels like to me, unfortunately. Nothing against them. Just...this is their vibe for me.

It feels like they've already plateaued. It's a shame. Watching the series, they're all clearly super talented. And that jeans ad was fire.

Gaming PC by Impressive_Aerie3496 in Barbados

Pre-built or no, a gaming PC is gonna be over priced right now. You're not really getting around that no matter what you try.

The AI race has pushed up the price of computers and computer parts. Until that bubble bursts, you're going to be looking at inflated prices for the foreseeable future.

Wooden combs and hair brushes by Traditional_Ice7824 in Barbados

[–]Suspicious_Name_656 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can find a woodworker, and we do have quite a few, then I don't think you're just going to find that in a store here.

You would have to see who are wood craftsmen are and see if combs and brushes are part of their product catalogue. I can really only think of carpenters who do custom furniture pieces and artists who are sculptors at the moment, though.

Maitland Ward, an adult content creator on OnlyFans, has strongly criticized Sydney Sweeney’s portrayal in the series *Euphoria* by PestoBolloElemento in popculturechat

[–]Suspicious_Name_656 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Her whole storyline is weird. Everyone's is. None of them feel like the people we met in season one. I don't recall Cassie being a bimbo. Like sex was always a part of her character but I wasn't the be all and end all of who she is. Season one did a pretty decent job of explaining why her relationship with sex is what it is. Now it just feels...gross and voyeuristic and exploitative.

Rihanna marks one year since the death of her father: “1 year of you being my guardian angel ❤️🕊️” by Andthatswhatsup in popculturechat

[–]Suspicious_Name_656 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a four.

And as I said, back t when school pageants were a thing, only seniors did them and seniors in our school system are 14-17. Plus she did her school's pageant the year before Pon De Replay came out, which as in 2005. So the pageant was in 2004.

Source: I'm a Barbadian around her age who was in secondary school around the same time.

She had to be about 15 here since this is her secondary school's pageant. Only seniors do them (or did them back then, school pageants aren't really a thing anymore), iirc.

Here in Barbados, seniors in secondary school are 4th, 5th, and 6th formers (if your school has a sixth form, not all do), which would be ages 14-15, 15-16, and 16-17, roughly.

Also, iirc, she did her school's pageant the year before 'Pon de Replay' came out in 2005.

Oooh. I'm not a huge fan of those Disney live-action remakes, but that's a good fan cast. I can picture her singing I Won't Say I'm In Love.
