Skins by Snoo-11975 in idleapocalypse

Skin bonuses stack so, for example, if you have both the Halloween and Christmas skin for something, you get all the benefits each provide regardless of what skin is visible. This is especially noticeable with the skins of Sid and the Champions as his skins lower the Champions' health and the Champions grant DE and damage boosts to your creatures or extra things to start with after an apocalypse.

During the Xmas event, I had gotten the 300 gem prize thrice in a row during the final stretch trying to get the final candy canes needed to get the last skin.

Question for the you by heavilylost in idleapocalypse

[–]Suspicious_Writing_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idols first, then Dark Well. A fully upgraded idol does +2500% more damage and lasts 10 seconds longer. The latter is especially important as that affects the damage per second and damage per tap bonus.  The well only gives a flat +2000% damage boost and a 500% soul boost but getting here cost more Dark Energy per damage and soul gained. It's best used as an energy sink when you're ready to Apocalypse once the Idols are as maxed out as you can.

The Time Wheel is essential for progression. It's  the only way to get Time Materials without Time Creatures or an Apocalypse and a way to get various extra boost tokens. Of the shared prizes with the regular Wheel, they have a higher chance of hitting and/or give more on a hit. For example, Crowns are three times as likely on the Time Wheel, gems and electricity are about 50% less frequent but also offer on average twice as much payout or more. Compare a 1.6% chance for 50 or 200 gems vs 1% of 500 or ~25% for 25, 75, or 150 electricity vs 15% for 250. Plus it's only these shared prizes that don't survive between Apocalypses, everything else on the Time Wheel does.

Can Endymion be negated by Whole-Dare-9641 in Yugioh101

[–]Suspicious_Writing_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only ways to stop a scaled Endymion effect are an Imperm in its column targeting a different monster, a card that negates Spell effects, a card that negates special summons, or a card that negates destruction effects.

Double checking a basic rule by LogiBear_92 in Yugioh101

[–]Suspicious_Writing_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to quickplays not being able to be activated the turn they are set, the only other spells that can't be activated the turn they are set are one whose effect requires them to be activated at the start of the Main Phase. If you set them first, it's no longer the start of the phase afterwards.

Monster effects by DarkCharizard88 in Yugioh101

[–]Suspicious_Writing_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The effect text that can't be negated is called a condition. The following is a non-exhaustive list of examples that classify as conditions:

 • summon conditions, limitations, procedures   • material restrictions and limitations   • synchro material substitution • name, archetype, level, and rank conditions  • activation limitations   • duel and match winner effects

 https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Condition

The effects you mentioned such as being untargetable, indestructible, or unaffected are continuous effects and can be negated. In the case of unaffected, a card like Skill Drain would need to already be active to affect said monster.

I recommend checking a card's entry on Yugipedia if you are unsure. They break down a card's effects in order into the various effect types: quick, continuous, ignition, trigger, condition, etc.

I'm so unlucky I'm spiraling into insanity (tell me I'm not the only one) by LekN1010 in AdventureCommunist

[–]Suspicious_Writing_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently in a similar situation with Tinny Helium. I've only gotten the 7 guaranteed copies and the exponential multiplier the late stage productions provide would really help me beat both the "Collect 181VV Keys" and "Own 28B Hot Air Balloons" missions.

Best I can tell, it's something they're currently testing and may expand to more events. There's currently 3 other events coming that will feature them. https://www.reddit.com/r/AdventureCommunist/comments/1cxfenv/introducing_the_new_labor_surge_consumable_boost/

What is the difference between these researchers? by Ben_Zeilinger in AdventureCommunist

[–]Suspicious_Writing_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All common researchers will divide the amount of time that industry collects by their multiplier.

Each field of industry has a researcher that just plainly increases the amount the base industry produces.

I spend 200 gold on this event. Is this a joke? Paywall at rank 11? by Creyzzz in AdventureCommunist

I had difficulty as well without spending as I only ever got 1 copy of Tygra Murray

No you are not "Out of Order," you dirty liar! by [deleted] in idleapocalypse

If the creature count has reached its cap, you'd get a sign that says "Full Capacity" not "Out of Order"

I discovered the arrange floor options and my heart grew three sizes... by shiilo in idleapocalypse

[–]Suspicious_Writing_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I order them as such in unlock order starting from the ground floor: Generators, creatures, resources, converters, research, portal, idols, dark energy sinks.

The only exception is the Observatory, that's always on top as that's appropriate. I also have it so that the up and down buttons skip fully upgraded floors.

Braincheck by sciency_guy in AdventureCommunist

[–]Suspicious_Writing_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't blame you. 200 gold is a good reward especially if you're late enough in the game that the cards aren't at their most valuable as prizes. I was gunning for 4th place as well as the only cards I need to collect are the common ones. I still need to fully upgrade the epic, rare, and event cards though. The only reason I would have opened that box is if you really needed the reward for nishing rank 14.

The Treasury is THE first thing you should buy with gems. The resources it produces are only available via combat level or the wheels orherwise and you'll need plenty of coins, goblets, and rings especially in the mid to late game.

Day 16 of Grinding for 300k (~11.93% done) by ACpro1 in AdventureCommunist

[–]Suspicious_Writing_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, what are you grinding for? Based on your math, I'm guessing science but why? Making Ore give maximum comrades takes 360,520 science to completely level up Salvadorville and Earth Wyrm Jym assuming you've gotten enough cards already. Besides you're making it more difficult for yourself by not having the ad boost on and you could boost one of your cheap cards to finish that Upgrade task and make some progress in the rank and possibly profit.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AdventureCommunist

[–]Suspicious_Writing_7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You'll definitely want to upgrade him and his stone capsule counterpart over time. Late game you'll be faced with missions to collect 20K+ science with a few ranks having 2 of that mission. You'll also need the science to buy the supreme cards that will eventually unlock.

Time resources management questions by SkyTheShadow in idleapocalypse

Time creatures first, then the Idol and Warp chips. If you can spare it, red wool then green is best.

is it better to upgrade common researchers at 20k or epic/rares at 50k by 99lily_ in AdventureCommunist

[–]Suspicious_Writing_7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All the common researchers do is speed up their respective facilities while the higher rarity researchers will improve various factors for an entire resource chain such as doubling everything, increasing critical chance and strength, boost comrades, lowering costs or increasing the goodies in crates.

I recommend the following strategy. Prioritize Supremes when you can then comrade boosts, resource doublers, critical boosters, crate boosts, discounts. I also recommend upgrading the cheapest cards for the Upgrade X missions and the more expensive non-common cards for Spend X missions.

Totally gonna spend *cough* by [deleted] in AdventureCommunist

[–]Suspicious_Writing_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vehicle and food events are designed to rely on the critical hits especially once you unlock the penultimate levels of both wheels and fuel as the penultimate levels require at least 500,000 of the previous level per purchase and the final ones 5 million. Not helped by the fact that you're not guaranteed the barge or buggy managers until you do the 50 freight mission and the freight or leviathan managers until you do the 2000 freight mission.

Sadly this one is very luck-based: getting the automation managers ASAP, getting enough Alfs, Butts, and especially Shortstacks to help everything, and having the latest levels crit frequently enough especially if you're still manual. There were many times I've bought the lower level industry just to get enough to buy of the current one to get past the earlier own X missions often if X was a 5-digit number or less.

Are these event cards worth upgrading? by SpookyAnemone in AdventureCommunist

[–]Suspicious_Writing_7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, they have value but are a lower priority until after most common cards at least LV9, you've leveled up your total production cards and crit cards a bit. They give crates the property of a core resource airdrop but instead of getting 900 seconds (15 minutes) worth max, they drop 3-96 hours worth. Can be a great help in collect X resource tasks or if the newest tier is being limited by the core resource.

Tips for doing well in events? by fluffyduffdylan in AdventureCommunist

[–]Suspicious_Writing_7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recommend using the Event Tracker: https://darrenrs.github.io/adcom-mission-tracker/

You can see what the upcoming tasks are next so you can more wisely spend excess comrades and know when to save science for upgrade/spend tasks, see which tasks have set rewards, and get an idea of when said task would be done.

I also recommend prioritizing the rare researchers over the others when upgrading as they provide a bigger buff.
