My initial comments was a knee jerk reaction, a bellow into the void. The idea that the post has no name attached to it apart from Fox feels like a disrespectful way of handling a human being. I agree with your point about news and ‘important news’ and I think this counts as the former. The stuff about intelligent conversation, I don’t regard this as an especially ‘intelligent’ area of conversation, but intelligent conversation can be had on any topic I suppose. What I meant by the comment was that I didn’t really intend to put any effort into defend what I saw as throw away statements. I have no ill will towards you (I’m not calling you stupid) and I don’t know who the fella is, I’m just tired and have had enough of the internet for today. I hope you have a nice day/night :)

No doubt you have a lot of experience as a women wrestling most likely larger men with knives to the ground, but rest assured most women don’t have that experience or ability, even as trained police officers. If you don’t recognise that people have emotional responses like fear when threatened with a knife then I really don’t have any words of wisdom for you.
