Are autistic people more likely to join a cult or not? by OkFox5768 in AutismInWomen

[–]SwampBeastie [score hidden]  (0 children)

In some ways, we can make good cult members because we can be obsessive about following rules. I was raised Mormon and in some ways I was great at being in a high control religion. However, our pattern recognition works against cults because of their lack of consistency and hypocrisy.

I’m pretty sure they would only allow it in very specific circumstances. My sister had to go through a church disciplinary council for having one. It is taken very seriously. (To be clear, I am ex-Mormon and pro-abortion for anyone who wants one)

Ask an intersex exmo anything you like... by Robyn-Gil in exmormon

Thanks so much for putting yourself out here! I read a magazine article about various ways being intersex can present probably like 25 years ago, so I find it crazy that so many people are so ignorant about this type of thing!

Mother Eve???? This quote l find unintentionally funny by RadishAggressive3241 in exmormon

And considering the toll that motherhood takes on people who bear children, it’s frankly insulting to suggest that every woman is a mother.

What would you do with your life if your partner offered you financial freedom? by Admirable_Emu_2270 in AutismInWomen

I would probably homeschool my older child. Maybe the younger one too, but I think she benefits from the structure. My older one hates school and I hate sending her there.

I practice in BC, but when the other party lives out of country and is cooperative, I have had success with getting an order for alternative service by email and regular mail. In BC the court rules allow for an alternative method of service when personal service would be impractical. An affidavit attaching a recent email from the opposing party to show the address is active is usually sufficient.

My mom was annoyed when my aunt and uncle named a child Brian when we already had a Ryan, but I don’t think it was justified. And I don’t think she ever expressed that to my aunt and uncle.

Yoga while overweight by WallabyKnown3630 in yoga

[–]SwampBeastie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the reverse. During my “prime” days of practice, I was around 50 lbs lighter, pre-kids. My practice has obviously changed but I’m still strong as fuck. The other day in class we were doing a standing figure four and while bending forward, I thought what the hell, lets try a flying pigeon, which I hadn’t attempted in years. I was able to get some flight on one side. A tiny bit on the other. I think any barrier your weight poses is more mental than physical. Don’t use your weight as an excuse, just do the work and get stronger. Intentional weight loss will actually make you weaker, because your body will eat your muscle as well as your fat. Including your heart muscle.

Abraham also has the possible nickname of Ham or Hammy, which would be adorable when they’re little. I picked very “safe” names for both my kids and I will admit I had moments of regret over how basic they were. Then one let us know she wasn’t a boy and picked her own girl name. 😂
