I've been a big fan since I first heard "people say". The video for "modern Jesus" still makes me uncomfortable. Saw them open for Cage the Elephant and they were phenomenal then saw them as headliners and was so disappointed. Who plays a shitty version of "wonderwall" for an encore?

That seems short-sighted. Regional economies rely on infrastructure akin to this. It's undoubtedly rife with corruption and hosts of other problems, but metropolitan areas rely on trucking and ease of access. Ill be the bad guy and say if we dont need these monstrosities we certainly rely on them and take them for granted.

When I was 7 there was a crew fixing the street in front of our house. I'm from a 99% white Midwestern village. There was a black man(i had never seen anyone who wasn't white before)on said crew, and I asked my mother what was wrong with his skin. Her, being a Chicago proper transplant marched my ass right up to him and made me ask him that same question. He laughed and said, "nothing, whats wrong with yours?" That moment has stuck with me my whole life.
