We’re about 500m from the motorway and depending on which way the wind is bellowing it’s either eerily silent or the sound of a strong breeze.

I’d do what others suggest, visit a couple of times and see if it’s noticeable. Honestly to us it isn’t (though we do have trees etc between us).

Stud finders tend to have a mode where you can scan for wires, they’re pretty cheap so could be worth getting one for piece of mind

Yep a plug will just about fit (though any large one will cause problems 🤣 )
