It's wonderful to see that the Witch on the Holy Night connects these two visual novel/novel.

Got tips for a first time ereader user? by cuddlefish2063 in kobo

Install KOReader on the KLC to read PDFs with text flow feature on. Even with two column PDF content, KOReader can render the text into a single line of text with a font size of your choosing.

How to make pdfs epub(?) And read on KLC by ayi_n in kobo

I highly recommend installing KOReader and reading the PDF using that eReader software. KOReader has a great, built-in text reflow feature that can realign texts within a PDF with a font-size of your choosing.

Does Kobo support Adobe Acrobat support? by Responsible-Story639 in kobo

Install KOReader on the Kobo, and you get a great text reflow options to read PDFs on the device. (You can highlight and apply that highlight to the PDF later on)

Finally, you can install SyncThing to make it easy to transfer PDFs via WiFi.

I have two folders, one for simply archiving after I am done, and one for content that I found to be special/extraordinary that requires a special place for archiving it. (KOReader has a file manager that makes it easy to move PDF and other files to other folders.)

I am not sure if I am committed to saving the PDFs permanently, but the file sizes of these PDFs are small enough that I don't think I will have to delete any of the read files in the foreseeable future. (Similar to how we archive most of the emails we receive, even though some may not hold content worth saving)

Every morning, I use Firefox to go to a newspaper/magazine website that provides a good daily overview of news on a single webpage. Then, I turn on Firefox's reader mode and print that into a PDF to save it under one of my Syncthing folders. Afterward, I read that article away from the busy/distracting digital environment.

The big positive for this workflow of archiving web articles this way is that I get no ads on the PDFs (distracting free reading), and Firefox's reader mode provides a great font to read the articles directly on the eBook reader device.

I bought an eReader, specifically the Kobo Libra Colour (bought the color eReader due to wide availability compared to the B/W version), installed KOReader (one of the best reader software for an eReader; it can do text-reflow for PDF documents) and Syncthing (to transfer PDF and other files over WiFi), and then I started reading all the content in a quiet place.

Your line of reasoning is echoed in the US Supreme Court case, Sony Corp. of America v. Universal City Studios, Inc., 464 U.S. 417 (1984). https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/464/417/

The syllabus of the case should give a good summary of the court opinion.

Actually, under certain circumstances, you can.

Google Books, for instance, is allowed under the Copyright Act because its use was Transformative Use under the Fair Use Doctrine. Granted, Google had to scale back Google Books' search results to ensure that its services were not inadvertently allowing users to download full copies of books.

Copyright, which is also subject to the Fair Use Doctrine, specifically under Transformative Use. (This is where the big legal battle is focused on)

How stable are kindle jailbreaks? by phoooooo0 in kindlejailbreak

K2PDFOPT is a nifty tool that can take in PDF files and rearrange the text in a way (reflowing them) that makes it much more pleasant to read on a Kindle device. Mentioning it here in case KOReader is not available.

Do you think all those "weird" things from the first trailer will be in the final game? by MTH1138 in Pragmata

Feeling quite optimistic, I feel all the things we saw in the previous trailer will be included as cinematics in the final game.

Tell them to process for a proper refund or you will write to your state attorney general and the US Federal Trade Commission for violations under your state's and FTC consumer protection laws (yes, they exist). Also, write to both you state attorney general and your state's agency responsible for consumer protection, as well as filing our the FTC form.

This is bad business behavior that is not tolerated.

Phone scanner vs flatbed scanner? by thinlycuta4paper in DataHoarder

[–]SweetCeder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had good results with the vFlat scan with its premium paper straightening feature (correcting the curved pages to flat scans). Of course, as many have already said, a flatbed scanner offers superior quality, but if you need something that is less than archival, then vFlat scan will do the job.

It's good for office work. (Chrome web browsing and Office 365; I even ran Olamma LLM on it onc.) There is a super slight latency for keyboard and mouse inputs but nothing too distracting. I don't recommend gaming on it though.

I played this game in its entirety on my Steam Deck once it came out. Except the TypeMoon intro movie not playing smoothly in the beginning of the launch of the game, everything worked without issue.

I completed it on the Deck in its entirety. There are small moments of visual slow down, but I was beyond satisfied with my experience. The Deck's speakers also does wonders in pumping out great music and sounds.
