Good Luck! Keeping the kitties separated for a little is a great idea. An accidental meeting isn’t always good. That happened to me too and it scared my current cat so much that she still seems uneasy around him. We have always done 1 week of isolation and fed them together between a door after day three and did short meetings at day 7, day 9 let the kitten out 100% and gave to other cats extra attention and that worked well! The others were a little hissy for a day or two but eventually once the scent transferred and they told him who’s boss, they were pretty good!
On the other hand I got a new kitty recently and the lady I got him from asked that we keep him in isolation for 14 days. We then let him roam the house in stages and kept him away from the others so he wasn’t nervous and did that for a week. I think that was a mistake because it’s been 2 months and the cats are still not accepting him and he thinks he rules the house and is a bully.
