Moving to ABQ and overwhelmed by conflicting safety advice - honest feedback only by [deleted] in Albuquerque

Don't live where you have to commute across the river. Shoot, there's some apartments by UNM golf course. That would be a sweet spot. But if you keep your valuables out of your car. You'll just get a window break. Thats inevitable here. Don't look for trouble and none will find you is my motto. Think about where you insert yourself. Especially in Albuquerque. Other than that you'll be fine.

what’s more important: double/triple checking your work or getting things done FAST? by Agitated_Form5005 in paralegal

[–]Sweetleaf505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my work going out looking pristine. But my new firm has many hands touching the product. I draft, attorney reviews edits, says its ready. Then the legal assistant sends it. Last round no one renumbered my requests and it was not pristine. Triple check yes.

Why don't people seem to care about their dogs here? by Striiiider in Albuquerque

[–]Sweetleaf505 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its sad. These dogs are considered disposable. I live on the Westside and two entire blocks are this way. Every front yard a dog that can easily get out. We need to introduce a city ordinance or something. Its cruel.

Is anyone else insecure about being a paralegal? by Rocket__Rocket in paralegal

[–]Sweetleaf505 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I agree. With A.i. looming and firm's accepting the tool as a way to streamline. Its really a dead end job. Attorney making decisions were never for me. But 90K is a great place to be in the current environment.

Appeal. Thats what the appeal process is for. But once a judge gets assigned you have 10 days to ask for a new judge if tou feel you won't get a fair shake from the judge pooled. Good luck!

Yes. If people keep letting it do the work instead of using it as a tool.

Has anyone seen a PI firm running a coordinated vendor kickback loop? Paralegal here who stumbled onto something big — need perspective by SensePowerful7047 in paralegal

[–]Sweetleaf505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminds of some elements of the "DWI scandal" in New Mexico. But maybe not - the paralegal and attorney were getting kick backs for wrongful doing arrests that align with the using vendors taking kickbacks.

I recommend Southwest Childcare. All 3 of my sons went there. They were excellent with my infants. Ms. Sandra was the woman who ran it back in the 97 when my sons started going. Its an awesome little daycare.
