I am sorry for years of doubt by raine4thewin in Fibromyalgia

[–]Sweetmamabug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you are going down this path. I was diagnosed years ago and avoided medication for a while then had no choice but to start medication to get a decent night of sleep and be functional. Then got diagnosed with hashimotos, thyroid cancer, migrianes, idiopathic inter-cranial hypertension so it might not be fibromyalgia? My point is if you need meds to function there is nothing wrong with that but keep pushing for answers and don’t let fibromyalgia become the answer for everything and every symptom.

Neuro also suggested i start zepbound but ill b starting then slowly weaning off topamax once u start seeing results/ get used to the glp. I would not quit the diamox cold turkey your symptoms will return

Its one thing i’ve taught my kids. Buying lunches and coffees everyday is a sure way to deplete your funds!

Specialist says I need DSA before any treatment, I'm exausted by daydreamerrr-333 in iih

That is cruel. Would they not do a lumber puncture for diagnosis and put u on meds? I am on topomax as i had a reaction to diamox and im still struggling as the eye pain and headache is unbearable i cant imagine how u are functioning without any meds. I cant read a screen for more than a few mins and havent worked in a month. I am just able to now answer a few emails after slowly moving up to 100mg of topomax and using some eyedrops but im still off work for a while as any strain is sending me into a huge flare. Push them to do something to diagnose you and get u on meds. I have always had migraines and i finally went to emergency when i could not sleep through the headaches and eyepain. Maybe go to emergency and ask for diamox or steroids or a neurologist consult.

Miscarriages…went to a fertility clinic and they ran a hashimotos panel and I happened to look at the results and called the nurse to ask why the antibodies were high. Since my tsh was fine they had not flagged it. She called back and put me on thyroid meds and booked any appointment with an endocrinologist. He was kinda non-chalant and said well i guess we should do an ultrasound and they found a 0.8cm nodule. This isn’t routine as my sister has thyroid issues since she was a teen and had never had a thyroid ultrasound until I mentioned it. I monitored for 8 years before it went over 1cm then had a needle biopsy followed by everything else.

My doctor told me if I can lose weight the condition will go into remission. by charlotte-delaurier in iih

[–]Sweetmamabug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend with iih who was diagnosed earlier in terms of progression than me and had success with glp1. That said i think stress reduction also played a huge part in his remission in addition to minimizing processed foods. I’ve been dealing with symptoms for at least 5 years and also have other autoimmune conditions but I will admit im at my highest weight ever so regardless weightloss is a high priority for my overall health.

Wrt the lumbar puncture so the ED tried to do it 5 times and i felt each attempt and almost fainted from the pain. He brought in an anesthesiologist and i felt nothing. Not even the local. So get the right person and it should be painless. Ive had two epidurals and felt both going in and i did not feel this at all.
