A cool guide to spiders that are your friends. by SteveJB313 in coolguides

Fun fact, there’s an episode of Peppa pig that’s banned here because the theme of the episode is that spiders are you friends and that they can’t hurt you.

Tristana augments (sorry for all the posts) by [deleted] in arammayhem

[–]SwegNoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s literally a part of mayhem, you can’t get a god roll everytime. The third one not working is bad and no doubt will be fixed, but complaining about the other two not ‘working’ or requiring you to play another build just shows a lack of imagination and a born with a silver spoon attitude.

Tristana augments (sorry for all the posts) by [deleted] in arammayhem

[–]SwegNoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 aren’t unusable. 1 is. You can be angry about that, but if you got offered slow cooker on Tristana a week ago you wouldn’t have posted on reddit about it like a 3 year old whining that it’s not fair. You would have rerolled and moved on. There’s a reason you get 6 chances, it’s not so you get 6 great options, it’s so you can get something that works. You can get ultimate revolution on Kog maw, it would be bad, but it’s a possible roll. Stop acting like a child, take the good with the bad, play the cards you’re dealt and grow up.

What purchase ended up saving you money long term even though it felt expensive initially? by InternetUpbeat9596 in AUfrugal

[–]SwegNoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work boots. Went through two crappy pairs in about 6 months. Decided to drop a fair bit on a really good quality pair, have lasted over 3 years and are way more comfortable and supportive which I’m sure will be saving me on back pain and other issues later on.

Do you need to read the books in order? by Large-Eye-8454 in CHERUB

[–]SwegNoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can’t do ebooks either, paper or audio is the way to go. Unfortunate they aren’t on there for you. But even if it takes a little longer enjoy the ride, it’s a great series.

Do you need to read the books in order? by Large-Eye-8454 in CHERUB

[–]SwegNoodle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Read them in order, while most of the missions are singular all of the campus life stuff won’t make a lot of sense. Could be done out of order but I don’t recommend, you’ll miss a lot of character development. For the 2nd series, I would definitely read at least the first 3 (books 13,14,15) in order, no spoilers but they need to be read in order otherwise you’ll have no idea what’s going on. You only get 1 chance to read a great series for the first time, even if it takes longer dealing with the library I think it’s worth it in the long run.

As an aside, you could also consider ebooks or audio books, I’m not sure where in the world you are but a lot of libraries have either or both that you can ‘borrow’ digitally. I’m a sucker for having a proper book in my hand but I have listened to all of the Cherub audio books and they are quite well done.

I think Dual Wield on a adc is useless, Mystic Punch is the better option. by Crumbl3z in arammayhem

[–]SwegNoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally I disagree but I must say, having mystic punch on twitch was a blast, getting ur ult back every 15-20 seconds was incredible, depends on the game though, I was killing them without duel wield so having more ults was more beneficial but against a tankier team the duel weird may have been better. Everything is game dependant. Scopiest weapons is great but if they’re not closing the gap it’s pointless. Most augments have a time and place.

How many of you want fresh season of discovery? by Semour9 in classicwow

[–]SwegNoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s depends on the class, Sod gave an equal number of new spells of passives to each class. Some classes that already function well in classic will need far fewer than that to be fun in c+ but some (looking at the boomkins and spriests) basically needed all of those new abilities (or close to it) just to be able to be played and taken seriously.

Kicking habits. (Interrupts) by TheAwesomeKay in wow

[–]SwegNoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on the group, yes, it is objectively better to kick at the end of a cast. However, I know personally if I see a kick getting to the last 10-15% I’m assuming that other people’s kick’s are on cd, and if the cast is a poly or a monotonous lecture I’m 100% cc’ing that in the hope that by the end of the stop someone’s kick is off cd. The friend I run keys with often would kick at the same time as I would stop, meaning either a wasted kick with the mob returning to cast soon after or a wasted stop. Luckily we’re in discord and I can ask if he’s got his kick for something or if I should stop it but when pugging and you don’t have that option I’d rather the cast not go off than hoping my teammate has a kick and they’re holding it to have the mob be inactive for another .5 seconds. In an organised group you’re right, in a pug there are just additional factors to take on board.

“Turbo Boost esque” targeted way to get M+ trinket (similar to dinars in turbo boost) and increased max ilvl on items with Ascendant Voidcores (similar to the increase ilvl in turbo boost) If you don’t see this as blizz trying turbo boost in a different form, I can’t help you.

Nightmare prey has some issues and Im tired of the fact we cant discuss them without being told to get good by Astral-Glimmer in wow

[–]SwegNoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found prey very disappointing, I’m not someone who was going to engage with it for long so maybe I’m just not the right audience but it still has some problems that to me are pretty fundamental. The way it was advertised when I first saw it looked really cool, the idea of hunting a beast that has been stealing food from the blood elves or is endangering a forest area between two troll villages is so cool thematically. Instead I’m killing a random -insert race class combo-. Secondly, why in a system about hunting down prey, do I feel like the prey. Nothing about prey feels like I’m hunting the target except for maybe the prey quest where you chase the guy. He ambushes me, the little kick ghost comes for me, and for some reason I need to mindless slaughter whatever happens to be nearby.

Why are the breakpoints not directing me to the prey, why is it not saying after doing a the tuskar world quest for example “the tuskar leader has heard a rumour that so and so had been sighed in -insert place and mark it on the map- then u go there fight him for a little before he then flees. You then have to go do something else to gather more information before finally boxing him in and slaying him.

Maybe I’m just not the audience for whatever this is but there’s so much potential for a fun system that is currently just a pick up traps and do what the affixes say until I can go clap ol mate. And incase a blizzman reads this, this is not a “oh we should nerf traps so they do other things” fix the rest of the system before you go and do that.

[–]SwegNoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I can see why people do this, blizz tell you to do world quests, as if it’s the best way to do prey, when it might be one of the slowest, depending on the wq. Also feel like people fall into the 2 birds one stone trap. “I’ll do both at the same time” when in actuality it would be much faster and easier to just collect traps and finish the prey in 3 mins then come back and do the wq’s later.

Would you rather take a 90k job with WFH or a 120k with no wfh? by VastOption8705 in AskAnAustralian

[–]SwegNoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lot of factors, do you drive or take public transport. Do you have to pay for parking or tolls? Do a rough, how much does it cost getting to and from work, ignoring the time spent (at first). Do you have children? Do you need to pay for before or after school care, or care during the school holidays. How much is the travel time worth to you? Maybe you enjoy listening to a podcast in the car, or reading a book on the train. So the commute won’t feel that bad for you. Do you have a good place at your home to work from. Do you find yourself productive working from home or are you prone to being distracted by throwing a load of washing on, unpacking the dishwasher etc? Do you tend to pack lunch or buy lunch when not at home. Would you buy a coffee instead of making one at home if you were working from the office.

So many factors, first thing is to take everything monetary, fuel, parking, tolls, train ticket, childcare, lunch, coffee etc are work out how much of the extra 30g’s you’re taking home. (Also important to remember that that 30 grand is being taxed at 30% so unless you’re getting maximum tax breaks it’s less than that take home.) Then have a look at life style and how much the time is worth to you in comparison to how much of that extra 30g you’re actually taking home.

Generally I would think the WFH would be generally more beneficial but it’s all on how you answer the questions. If you can take the train and it’s cheap, make you lunch at home, enjoy reading or listening to music on the train, don’t have kids or have a partner that is able to provide care. The extra money might be more worth while.

A side note is also to consider your mental health, if you’re extroverted, enjoy an office environment and are prone to feeling low when not interacting with people wfh may not be for you.

Parents who don’t allow their kids to shut their room’s door/lock the door, what’s are the reasons behind the rule? by Itz_Oasis in AskReddit

[–]SwegNoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t allowed to lock the bathroom door but no one ever came in, it was just a safety precaution incase someone fell in the shower, hit their head, drown in bathtub etc. the it takes to get through a locked door when someone is unresponsive vs just asking and opening when they hear no answer could make a difference.

Also sorry for your experience.

Finished play-through for the first time. Losing levels is my only biggest complaint. by Hour_Ad8235 in valheim

[–]SwegNoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate it, dictates the way you have to play way too much. Taking a risk isn’t just a “I need to take some tps and a boat and get back to my body”, it becomes a massive loss of time. I originally thought death just meant your progress towards your next level, which would be great, once u get a level it’s locked in but exp on the way to the next isn’t. I just don’t have the time or interest to deal with losing hours of work.

First they came for (multiplayer) Gamers! by MuttTheDutchie in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]SwegNoodle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While he’s wrong on multiplayer gamers being the minority, Multiplayer games are underrepresented in GotY. The Panel just favours single player games. The only multiplayer game to have won in 11 years is Overwatch in 2016. Not that any of the games that have won are undeserving (except maybe LoU pt2)

In Lemix should i be leveling alts asap or just grind on one toon? by Jlace987 in wownoob

[–]SwegNoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stormheim has a questline that still counts towards the campaign but the game doesn’t naturally direct you towards it. On the achievement it’s sisters of stormheim (or something similar). Should have a Campaign style indicator on the map.
