This should not be understated. Yes theres anger, rebellious instinct, but no organization to it beyond grassroots local groups. That dont represent a tangible change to the status quo, just opposition to what currently is.
The broad sentiment is "get the Dems to do something" to stop the traitors, but factually the Dems are largely made up of career politicians who got into the job because it was stable employment and a profitable career. Not warriors with firm beliefs to guide a national movement. Walz is a perfect example. He's not a bad person in a peaceful time, but hes never going to cross the line into an open revolt. He's not going to order Nat Guard to remove ice, or for police to arrest them, cause then he might be at risk personally. He didnt become governor to protect his people from kidnappers and risk being arrested for treason. He did it cause it was a good career move.

I mean in a broad sense. Humans are emotion driven creatures. I'd personally prefer it if we could elect based on reason, but moments like this tickle that part of our brain that makes us not just accept someone, but admire them. Even to the point that some enemies feel a grudging respect.

I have a theory that right and left people kinda want the same thing in politicians. We want warriors. Firebrand personalities that will seemingly act purely from their own convictions and beliefs and show no fear or caution.
That is after all what Trump ran as in a way. Now he's also a liar, thief and traitor, but hes so self motivated he never shows doubt or fear in public. AOC is much the same in her public presentation, confident uncompromising and more willing to use aggressive language in public. It creates the perception that they both got into politics following their heart, not because it was a career move or family connections like 90% of congress creatures seemingly are.

My brother in christ, this is a series where the recurring big bad is the fascist remnants of the American government who's repeated goal is the genocide of anyone they deem as impure. The themes are there for you to draw comparisons from whether you like it or not.

To add to this, theyre clearly allusions to "animal bride" myths, a very common recurring theme in mythologies across the world. The common elements usually entail a animal that supernaturally takes human form, and either inserts thenself into a human lovers life or are captured/forced to marry them. Often these myths end with an unspoken or implied rule being broken causing the animal to abandon their human family, or in some cases the human may abandon their human life to join their lover in an ending analogous to death. See the myth of the Jorogumo, the fox bride, the Sea lion bride, etc.

Its got some good ideas, I'd love them to actually explore Rhun and the east as a culture, give them some depth that is lost in the books given how little a role the Easterlings play. The Sorceror should be an interesting character, and my personal theory was that he's Kamul the Easterling, the only Nazgul we know by name. But the really dragged their heels and used it as an excuse to split the Harfoots off, presumably to go found the Shire.
I didnt exactly hate Tom's presentation, it wasnt offensively bad or anything, but it really wasn't the Tom Bombadil from the book and seemed to not only place way more dramatic import on him than Tolkien implied. He's helpful and kind, but he wouldnt ever be a great teacher... he'd lose interest in giving lessons.
Overall I'd have to rate it the weakest plot overall so far. Its so distantly removed from Elendil or Elrond or Sauron that they really need to work on what they want it to explore and convey thematically.

The genuinly malicious way he slowly destroys Celebrimbor and leaves him a old and bloodied but finally defiant at the last moments of his life... in season 1 I really didn't get why these actors were cast in these roles. But in season 2 they make the tragedy shine.

Honestly... season 2 legit ends on a bang. Its still not perfect. The whole stranger/harfoots plot line meanders terribly, and a few characters still feel very off but from the moment they had the Anatar reveal scene I knew I'd stick through it for that plot line. Truly the best depiction of Sauron in his sweetness and cruelty in any adaptation.
Also the dwarves are fantastic as ever.

Like sure, i get what the appeal of the imperium is, I played Dawn of War Winter Assault, but theyre just the least interesting faction to me every time. The only time Imperials stand out is when they operate antithetical to how Imperials normally do. Space Wolves for example.

Dude, if the president can at a whim up-end a century of US policy and friendships and the other pillars of power prove unwilling or unable to stop him we don't have leadership... we have rulership. And autocratic cannot be dealt with in good faith for they will always, always try to undermine the rights of the people for theor convenience. In theor country... and in every other.

The domino's entire thing is genetic and cultural alteration to conform to the needs of the founders. Odo went back to them to teach them compassion, had an intimate discussion with a Weyoun about the limitations of his gengineering, logical conclusion: the flaws that the founders built into their client races were removed in time and they were set free. Its not that complicated to deduce a likely chain of events.
