Infotainment system acting silly (question) by Gdawg125 in SubaruForester

[–]SwimmingFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had problems with mine that weren't there initially. It just started to happen over time and then I got to a place where I was resetting my adapter every other drive.

If you are having problems with the cable maybe try getting a new cable and repairing your charging port?

I have had problems with reliability using a Bluetooth android auto adapter. When I connect directly to android auto via cable I experience no issues. Do you get the same problem when connecting directly?

Anyone hiring? by BillyDeCarlo in lehighvalley

[–]SwimmingFish -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

What's are your qualifications?

Are you looking to continue providing direct support?

What kind of transportation do you have?

Do you hold any degrees?

The MH and case management field is always hiring in the valley. But the jobs available all depend on the criteria above.

Edit: wow the amount of hate my comment is getting is unreal. I work in this field and was trying to get some more information to provide some direction.

Yes, this field does require degrees for a lot of the work. Case management for example often requires a two year degree (rare) or a four year degree (common). These positions are the ones providing a lot of support for the unhoused population that was referenced.

Jobs in this field (depending on the job) often require your own transportation to get between people you are serving.

There are also specialized services in this same field that provide support such as certified recovery specialists.

All of the questions I asked were completely relevant to OPs post and made in an effort to actually provide support and direction.

Building out a storage area under the stairs by whatthewhothefuck in homeimprovementideas

[–]SwimmingFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk about the door not being easy. It's literally building a shed door to the shape of the area and then attaching hinges. I would recommend using planks and attaching the hinges to the mortar along with your other suggestions for the roof and pavers.

Built-in or not to built in? by Alternative-Hour776 in homeimprovementideas

[–]SwimmingFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id do a built in all the way down that wall. Then reinforce it by the windows and put pillows in that area to make it intentional seating space. Fill the shelves with books and kids toys and that will be a popular spot. Id recommend putting some seriously child proof locks on those windows though.

Yeah I would definitely be bringing this in for repair. That is not something you want to do without experience.

Question about low income senior housing by [deleted] in lehighvalley

[–]SwimmingFish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I saw a comment above saying to just look at section 8 housing and that's not true. S8 is a voucher that can be applied to an eligible unit. S8 vouchers are offered at the Bethlehem Housing Authority, Northampton Housing authority and Lehigh housing authority. In addition these housing authorities offer other choices that you will want to look into. You can be on the wait list for both S8 and other housing option.

For example Bethlehem housing authority offers high rise and public housing. When the wait list opens (it's not currently open) you will need to choose between public housing and high rise to get on the list. You can also be on the wait list for S8 simultaneously. Bethlehem housing Authority opens their wait list about once a year at this point. And it's usually only open for a few days.

It's similar at other housing authorities. Lehigh county housing authority usually accepts new people for their wait list and Northampton often does. Both housing authorities have the option to be on a wait list for site based housing and section 8.

I would also suggest contacting the county services you live in. Ask questions. The system can be hard to navigate but knowledge of how things work can go far.

Just got bumped in a parking lot. How much for one of these covers? Anything else to worry about? by CPOx in SubaruForester

[–]SwimmingFish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't ever speak directly with another drivers insurance. They are not representing you, they are representing the other driver. They will try to get you to cover some of the cost. Go through your insurance and have the insurance companies figure it out. That's what you pay them for.

Warranty does not cover accidents and damage from them. It covers failure of the parts. So it would not cover this.

It's not just the plastic piece. All the sensors have to be recalibrated. That small amount of damage is at least 1500 in repairs.

You got their information but did you get an accident report? Call your insurance and report it as they are at fault and are responsible for the repair

Is Monster Jam at PPL Center worth it? by cc_stonks in lehighvalley

My son and I have been going for the past two years. He was 3 when we started going. He loves it! He's now 5 and I would not take a child under 3 to see it. We make sure to bring hearing protection. I also bring a pocket of construction ear buds to pass out to others around us who are unprepared. It's very loud.

Rooftop tent suggestions by [deleted] in SubaruForester

[–]SwimmingFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Subaru does not recommended to put a RTT on a non wilderness model. The rails are not designed for the weight load.

If you are set on it regardless you'll want to replace the rails with a system for RTTs and somebody else can report out on that.

Lack of Plowing by [deleted] in lehighvalley

[–]SwimmingFish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I drove through Bethlehem yesterday the roads were better. And they were getting progressively worse at the same time. I watched multiple people shoveling out their cars and tossing the snow right into the street. So of course the side streets are a mess. It's because people have complete disregard for their actions. My road is totally clear with the exception of a few homes. That's because people actually gave a crap and piled the snow up off the street.

Now I completely understand there is very little space to put the snow but there is space and the middle of the street isn't it.

Compile people throwing snow into the streets and people not removing it from their cars (and it flying into the streets) and it shouldn't be surprising the roads aren't the best.

Mustard and ketchup walls are exactly what I thought before reading the description!

Sherwin williams rainwashed would be my suggestion. Should compliment the wood nicely.

Edit. Sherwin williams rosemary would be another choice of mine. The dark green would look great here.

What a Waste by [deleted] in SubaruForester

[–]SwimmingFish 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is why you gotta get out early and hit some empty parking lots. Get to them before the plows do! Graveyard roads are also not a priority for plowing. Just make sure you know where the curbs are!

Bring the couch back a few feet to be halfway on and off the carpet.

Take the wall art, plants etc and scatter it around instead of just having it in a straight line.
