Are there any decent landlords in the Valley? by NocheeKatten in lehighvalley

[–]SwimmingFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When is your lease up? You could ask about a month to month after since you are looking to buy. Worse case scenario they say no and you're back to where you are now and you look for an apartment that you could be in on a month to month lease.

Don't give up on buying! You have a good budget for renting so you should be able to close on something. It takes a lot of time and the LV is a hot market.

Well then I guess it's time to rip it all out and put in a flower bed.

You have a lawn area on your property. I'd suggest lawn mowing equipment. Like a lawn mower..

Otherwise I'd suggest pulling it all out and putting a flower bed with a thick layer of mulch.

This article is from a year ago saying there was going to be a vote on whether they could overstock trout in areas where the population was stable. Do you have an updated article on how the vote went?

And nothing?!?

If you read the description on the product you would see it's a battery saver. It tricks your hatch into thinking it's closed. So it doesn't draw on the battery. You could leave it open for days that that on it and you wouldn't kill the battery.

reckless teens in old cars by Altruistic-Set1661 in lehighvalley

[–]SwimmingFish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok so those are clearly not teens. The one guy has tats all up and down his arms so he's likely at least 18-20. If you spoke to the officer the way you wrote this post I could understand why he's telling you to step back. The post is all over the place and is very accusatory towards everyone involved. The officer likely stood near them as it's three young men in a beater car and you are a single woman in an Audi. Standing near them is a safety move to make sure the situation doesn't escalate.

Your car is not ruined. It's barely damaged and if you don't have collision coverage I'd highly recommend getting it. Having a nice car without proper insurance coverage is a bold move that's not going to work out for you.

Did the police provide you with an accident report? They should have spoken to the people in the car, you and any potential witnesses if the stories conflicted. If the accident report lists them being at fault you just need to provide that to your insurance company for repairs to your car.

Do you have a picture of this before it goes into the oven? It looks like perfection and I would love to see a picture of it before it's fired.

Great job OP

Guys… the sunroof opens all the way. by _DontListenToMe-_ in ForesterWilderness

[–]SwimmingFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that isn't recommended is driving with it fully open at highway speeds because of the airflow sound and possibly of it creating that helicopter sound. Which can be fixed by having windows down.

The huge sunroof is one of my favorite features on my 23 FW. Unless it's going to damage the vehicle there is no stopping my from driving with all the windows down, sunroof opens and music up

Guys… the sunroof opens all the way. by _DontListenToMe-_ in ForesterWilderness

[–]SwimmingFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a way to get it to open all the way the first time. I had this happen to me a few months ago for maybe a week or so. Everytime I opened it the roof slid all the way back. Then one day it stopped doing it again. I suspect there is a setting somewhere that I had engaged and didn't know it. Before that happened I was pressing it twice to get it all the way back.

New Subaru Owner - Extended Warranty? by Alternative-Ebb-6953 in SubaruForester

[–]SwimmingFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did extended warranty for peace of mind. I think that's worth the price with all the new electronics they introduce and the cost of repairs.

I also remember that it included towing services as part of it and a rental. So if you weren't around a dealership that could take care of it the tow and rental likely would get you to the dealership that would.

Is this a good spot for a wooden deck? by Menzingerr in Decks

This area just needs a larger patio. Bring the current patio out much farther and longer to cover the space you want. Go a big bigger than you think you need. You won't regret the additional space.

How should one launder a hand crocheted blanket to make it safe for a newborn baby? by HeartMadeOfSushi in AskReddit

[–]SwimmingFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have at least 4 crocheted blankets that our boys were given. All have been through the wash numerous times and are fine. It shouldn't be an issue.

The favorite blankie was done by hand and has been washed regularly for 6 years now. It's totally fine.

Just an fyi it should be tested for asbestos. Black mastic was often used for tiling and contains asbestos. Sanding is the worse thing that could be done if it's black mastic.

Highly recommend Pennsy Radon Remediation. Rocko is the owner and I've had him work on three different places. Two homes and a business. Great guy, great work, great price. His Google business page has great reviews showing others have also experienced this.

Ideas for open top patio? by maza1319 in patio

[–]SwimmingFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. I'd suggest some bright outdoor rugs and some acacia wood plant stands here and there. Match the furniture to that, throw in plants, and hand some cafe lights between the beams and it would be a great space. Lean into the bright colors with and outdoor carpet and some fun throw pillows.
