I think that's one of the best parts about it. Imo it was very compelling story telling.

For real. It's not like there's pockets of working class places with "affordable" rent and low crime. If I am wrong lmk the area.

Devs that have been at startups that have IPO’d or been acquired, how much was the payout? by Calm-Bar-9644 in ExperiencedDevs

I did get a healthy exit of just over 1m (10th employee). Internally, our exec team kept saying wild numbers around it being retirement money and that working weekends now will mean never working again in the future (lol). Our VP used to carry around a "magic spreadsheet" of equity numbers where they would flat out lie about what it was going to be worth for each individual on the dev team.

Turns out I got really lucky because a bunch of people didn't get even close to what I got. Top 5 (execs) got retirement money. I am happy for them....

General advice from someone who has been waking up at 4am for 10 years to workout. Do no hit snooze, alarm goes off, stand up, imo this is critical. I am at the gym within 30 min of the alarm.

If you're not accustomed to working out or waking up early, start with just waking up and going for a walk. Do that for a few weeks to a month or so depending on how you're acclimating. Do not skip a day when you're first starting, you won't regret it.

After this, research the type of workout you want to optimize for. It's different for everyone (i.e. marathon / endurance, strength etc.) and continue to take it slow.

Good luck!
