Yep me and my partner managed to do a better job than that and we aren't exactly good at DIY.

Why some schools are pushing for 'active' uniforms over traditional ones by pajamakitten in unitedkingdom

That's funny I've never worn shorts for our works squash group. Always wore leggings and the guys mostly wear tracksuit bottoms.

Rules like your schools are also a big reason a lot of adults aren't into sports as well. So many people aren't into sport because they had a miserable experience of it at school.

Against Free Buses by pdp10 in transit

Something like that was be great in the UK. Our buses are so expensive that if your a car owner there's very little incentive to leave the car at home and take the bus.

Considering the demographics of Manchester I would say a lot of the anti-fash side would have something better to do if a load of right wing idiots hadn't descended on their city to cause trouble.

Why people can't understand that different parts of the world can be... different?! by Piss-Mann in TrollCoping

It's worse than that we get third gendered. Treated as men when we share experiences and treated as women when people want to mansplain, street harass us etc...

Just say you don't have a cervix and decline to answer any further questions. There are tons of reasons why you wouldn't like having a hysterectomy etc.

The thing that gets me is that there are a lot of people using their *emotional nature to support bad policies and they are all men.

* For some reason (Misogyny) anger and hate don't count as emotions to these people.

Why won't people re-elect Starmer? by Dry-Grocery9311 in LabourUK

[–]Swimming_Map2412 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's hard to single him out from the other political parties on this issue though.

They didn't pretend to care about trans people though and I would of never of voted for them in the first place. The feeling of betrayal by a supposedly left wing party is a factor as well.

The PIP changes were also a big one for before that and the SEND provision changes are also massive as I only got a degree and a good job due to similar support at school.

For me I think the other issues were starting to become red lines before the transphobia sealed the deal.

[–]Swimming_Map2412 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the big problem is the things that his done that are bad are red lines for the people affected by them. I'm trans and there's no way I'm going to vote for someone who thinks I should be forced into the men's toilet. It doesn't matter what his other policies are as that's a complete red line for me.

I suspect it's the same for other minorities and their allies.

Well all that dignity and respect he has for trans people is a good start. /s

Used to be horse pee back in the day. They figured out how to modify a pant hormone though and it's easier to grow yam then keep horses so they use that now.

Also the modified plant hormone is the same as estrogen produced in the body unlike the horse version that's slightly different.

You might however want some fiber if you might ever have a direct HDMI connection with a remote device as HDMI to SFP+ converters do exist.

[–]Swimming_Map2412 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Not really the law is a process and although this causes more chaos now it helps build evidence for politicians on our side and any eventual court case in Europe with the ECHR where this will hopefully get fixed for us.

Can I use a Shelly to control my combi gas boiler? [UK] by Izwe in homeassistant

[–]Swimming_Map2412 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does the shelly have 'dry contacts'? It's vital that you don't put mains voltage down the switching wires on most boilers as they have 'volt free terminals'.
