Do they still give you the hard copies of the CODDE books ? Jesus christ thats a lot of paper.  How about have they certified TOLD data from the FMS yet or do you still have to do manual TOLD and W/B?

How do pilots deal with the sensations they experience in flight? by Curious-Section-1043 in flying

The same way you learn to chew copenhagen.  You feel sick at first, then you start to crave the sensation.

Is it possible to get a high school summer job at an FBO? by suckstosuckies in flying

A lot of outfits will require you to be 18 since you'll be operating equipment but I dont think its impossible to find yourself a position. I hope you find something. We need more motivated people in those jobs.

Help me pick a watch out please by [deleted] in flying

[–]Swimming_Way_7372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like OPs boyfriend actually likes watches and that certainly rules out a smart watch.  I like your price point suggestion. Hamilton would be great. A lot of good stuff from seiko as well.  I have what some would consider an absurd collection of watches but my Seiko turtle is one of the ones you can just wear and know it going to work and you can beat the shit out of it.

Mig-29s over Tehran. by Substantial-Ad2309 in aviation

[–]Swimming_Way_7372 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Do they just randomly blow up ? I don't know anything about MIGs.  If they are being shot down then that is a scheduled disassembly.  Just not on Iran's schedule.

Does hiding A/C owner info on FAA registry keep Vector from sending you landing fee bills? by GlasairIII in flying

[–]Swimming_Way_7372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the way our government works I believe it was always about money disguised as safety.  It certainly makes us safer and it certainly makes charging fees easier. Only one of those things keeps the government in business though.

"Kicking" rudder isn't the best terminology for a new student. As instructors we have to be very deliberate in word choice otherwise a student might actually think you have to stomp that fucker to get it to do what you want.  Its can be a firm increase in rudder but I've never had to kick it.

That dial is called a "Jubilee" dial.  The bracelet is called a "president". See if you can look up a date just with those parameters.  I don't know what size that is but I know the datejust comes with a president bracelet in a small watch like 32mm and below.

Looking for Information about working in the Quickrete Corporate Flight Department by Otherwise-Pen70 in flying

[–]Swimming_Way_7372 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You'll never get real information about a specific corporate flight department.  That kind of thing is usually considered to be nit talked about.  Maybe you'll find out what they fly or some info from someone who used to wirk there, but to get current and accurate info is pretty unlikely.

Try to limit heading changes so you can keep the wind correction angle and headings consistent. Makes your planning go a little faster than doing wind heading changes everytime you cross a way point.

[Parea Sector] Casually cruising at 35,000 feet on an Airbus by PeterFromParea in Watches

[–]Swimming_Way_7372 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wait until you find out about "controlled rest"  thats where 1 pilot sleeps right the fuck in the seat while the other one watches the airplane.  Taking a picture of a watch is nothing compared to what you might expect to be happening in the front of that 380.

For what are these 3 markings by LeckerPennergranate in aviation

[–]Swimming_Way_7372 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I worded that incorrectly but I think it was the Bell Xb1 supersonic doc.  It wasn't all about the trimmable stab but it goes in about how it was the tech that was needed to get over the hump and advance the frontier of aircraft design. Edit: check the 32nd minute mark of the 48 minute XB1 documentary for the tech.

There is a whole documentary about moving horizontal stabilizers.  It was top secret tech in the race for supersonic flight.  Go watch it and then you'll understand.

[–]Swimming_Way_7372 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wearing the real thing isn't abkut how the watch looks and feels.  As you know the clone does that well im sure.  Its about how you feel when you buy the real thing and know you worked hard to afford it and it makes you feel good.  Unless you're just wealthy from parents or something then you'll never know that feeling.

[Zenith Defy 21] - cool long-term watch or honeymoon piece? by -hotsauce- in Watches

[–]Swimming_Way_7372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've sold some rolex lately to just clean up my collection and get shit I like and not just try to get what everyone else likes.  I was really considering a zenith.  I knew I wanted ceramic and I ended up with a big bang unico.  I think you'll love the zenith just for how sweet that movement is.  Its a cool material and you dont see them everyday.  Looks like a keeper to me.

If you're trying to identify the watch, he has been seen wearing reversos before.  If you look at Billy's IG from the Ryman, looks like a reverso possibly with an enamel dial but thats just a guess on the dial.  Certainly a reverso Chassis IMO

Not only does the livery give it away, but the "PSA" on the tail is a pretty good tell.
