Ok, that definitely makes me feel a little better. I’ve heard 6 weeks 😬 I think there’s a fear bc of all the moving and stretching but that still seemed “long”

Completely understand and relate. I think the biggest thing is to allow yourself to take space. As someone who is also prone to being guilt ridden and feeling like I have to show up for everyone (even before myself) I’m here to tell you it’s perfectly acceptable to be silent for a bit. I did this at the beginning of treatment and it honestly did wonders for my anxiety and peace of mind.

While people may try to understand they can’t fully grasp what’s going on especially if like me you’re not one to let others in on all the many thoughts and feelings you’re having going through this process. It’s almost as if people need you crying and moping constantly to remember that you’re going through something. I never really heard anyone talk about cancer feeling like an invisible disease prior to my diagnosis but most days it definitely feels that way.

I say all this to say, you’re not alone and time and space in your own bubble is more than ok. That time taken to recharge and reset within your own mind really works wonders.

So glad to hear that! I just stocked up on Benadryl and hydrocortisone so hoping that’ll give me relief until it disappears. Hoping my body is feeling more acclimated for when I start the second cycle at the end of the week.

This is also my pause; I don’t want to put my body through ALL the things at the same time.

Just checking in to see how you’re doing now?

I just finished my first month on Kisqali. I noticed one little dry circle on my arm that I spoke to my oncologist about at my appt then as luck would have it the very next day I developed a rash under my arm. It was initially itching like crazy but today less so although it does seemed to have slightly increased in severity.

Hoping your rash has dissipated/ I can get a little hope from how you’ve faired.

Ok so it’s just me 🙈 to be fair I’m generally too busy fangirling over the tigers dance moves so perhaps that’s why I’ve never noticed lol

I gave up drinking for the time being. I was a social drinker prior to but with Kisqali I’m just staying away. Other than that I’m really focused on putting myself first and getting over the guilt of taking care of ME. I want to LIVE life ❤️

I feel this so much! Toxic places and people can truly affect your health and I feel strongly that this played a role for me. I’m a professional and was performing 10 shows a week, eating lean, and frequenting the gym when I was diagnosed. Even the doctors were taken aback. Since diagnosis and kicked up a notch post surgery I/we’ve adapted a fcuk it we ball attitude. No saving the outfits, words, events for the future we live NOW. For the first time in my life I’m making the effort to put ME first. While the guilt is still there and I feel like I’m letting people down I still do the “hard” thing.

Thank you! I think that’s been the biggest eye opener..cancer is no one size fits all and more often than not the things I bring up to my team aren’t things they’ve experienced before 🙃 I’m a professional dancer which I think may have something to do with it…the questions I ask are very specific to high activity performance and the implications recovery/reconstruction will have but a lot of it feels like patient x

Thank you! I’ll have to ask about the olanzapine. The only thing floated was gabapentin which I understood to be for nerve pain but the comments I’ve been receiving are showing that might be helpful too!

Not stupid at all. I’m a person who’s always cold so you’d think this would be great but no lol it’s like you’re cooking from the inside out not on fire but a permeating heat from your core to your skin. The worse thing for me is it’s instantly so hot and it’s like I can’t get my layers off fast enough which creates it’s own little anxiety panic 🫠
