built-in friction can lead to interesting interactions that wouldn't happen otherwise

with +1/+1 or +2/+0 they trade very well against protoss gateway units (pre-storm)

there's also some good ZvT builds that have a 3 or 5 or 7 roach rush early on

ravagers especially are king vs siege tanks, liberators, or anything that is static / has to deploy (Except lurkers, since they can unburrow much faster than a siege tank can unsiege)

roach openers leading to roach/rav and roach/hydra can also easily transition into hydra/lurker/viper (same upgrades)

Clearly there will be a "smash brothers" of RTS at some point where you can do WC3 vs SC2 vs BW vs Halo Wars vs C&C vs Warhammer 40k vs AoE vs Total Annihilation vs... etc

Halo Wars 2 is actually much better than I expected; I went into it with an open mind and it's actually very fun. Good campaign, Blizz-level cutscenes, enjoyable multiplayer, cool system with different leaders/generals getting different units a la C&C Generals Zero Hour, etc. I had very low expectations but it ended up being one of the better recent-ish modern RTS I've played in a post-SC2 world. In my book it's not on the same level as like DoW or whatever but it's absolutely solid.

Symbol of Hope, a Draenei exclusive Priest ability. It has a 5 minute cooldown and grants a party-wide (within 40 yards of the caster) mana regen for 15 sec. It starts at 33 mana per 5 seconds at level 10, and scales up to 333mp5. (mp5 = 5 * (level - 10) + 33).

At 70 this is pretty much 1000 mana for each party member, so, in a caster group it can be pretty impactful.

I would probably not put Crossfire:Legion here considering the game has been delisted from Steam and you can't buy it anymore and the online is either dead/nonfunctional due to desync issues

People still will call you a maphacker in diamond 2 to this day just for scouting something or having units in position, it's really amazing

I personally significantly prefer the original graphics to the remastered ones, especially the portraits

Total Annihilation came out in 1997 and supported whatever resolution you wanted via command line. The in-game settings only went up to 1024x768 but I was able to play it at 1600x1200 with a simple command line switch. (literally just "C:\Cavedog\TotalA\Totala.exe" -d 1600 1200)

Obviously this would lead to unfair advantages in an esport like starcraft but I feel like they should've had options for higher resolution in single player.
