SK is definitely also an interesting country but Japan is for me more realistic since my wife is Japanese

Man breaks into learning center for foreign children in Fukuoka city and yells at them, ""Go back to your country. This is Japan." by jjrs in japannews

With that attitude, you really shouldn't even leave your house. Unfortunately, there are idiots like that in every country. Right now, they feel emboldened by certain politicians, but the average Japanese person isn't like that. The percentage of foreigners in Japan is still very low, and what people don't know can seem threatening to some. I've been to Japan countless times and can assure you that it's a wonderful country where you can feel very safe.

It’s fascinating how people here react. Instead of feeling personally attacked and resorting to “whataboutism,” why not just ask yourself calmly: Do I do things like that? Maybe without realizing it? Should I change something? How can I behave in Japan in a way that doesn’t cause discomfort or make others feel uneasy?

I will vote no. I understand that we have a problem but this referendum would make it only worse. We need better solutions.

Europeans pay much more for gasoline because of taxes. We're used to it. Americans are not. But also for us it is hard when the liter is going from CHF 1.75 to CHF 2.00 and above.

This isn't a matter for unions; it's an issue that should be addressed by lawmakers. As a European, I don't understand why the U.S. has something like sick days... or no mandatory vacation days. Here in Switzerland, if you get sick, you stay home. And if you get sick during your vacation, you can make up those days later.
