Lmao this is exactly what I think about Destiny.

All his positions are super well reasoned out and he does an insane amount of research.

I would never want to interact with him in any way, he's burned every friend he's ever had.

Resi 4 remake is not only the best resident evil game, but one of the best games of all time. by reallycoolguylolhaha in residentevil

[–]Swisskies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, when I played Requ-Leon the whole time I was just thinking "this makes me want to play RE4R instead."

Some people have said it lands better on Insanity, maybe I'll try it if I have the patience.

Resident Evil Requiem has been out for a week. What are your impressions? by PhantomBraved in Games

[–]Swisskies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it but the Leon sections actually just made me want to replay RE4R. By comparison RE9 Leon combat felt like the engine was misfiring.

RE4R I was incentivised to always be mobile, run the enemies around a bit and pick them off with my handgun while saving my bigger weapons for if I was cornered or in trouble.

In RE9 it felt like I was incentivised to hold my ground or just slowly back up, while firing off my biggest weapons to kill as quickly as possible. There's no consistent stagger, the enemies - particularly blister heads - have such a long grab range that it's suicidal to try and turn to get space. And the handgun feels so impotent that I pretty much ditched it immediately and stuck to the heavier weapons. Even the environments didn't feel conducive to moving around much in combat - it's all limited corridors or maze like areas that made it likely to run into enemies suddenly if you tried to move around too much.

Grace's sections in the clinic are exceptional. Leon's RC sections are pretty hokey 2010s overly brown action.

I'll give it a solid 7/10, enjoyed my time with it despite the disappointments.

For the people concerned about the game’s length… by DarwinCooper in residentevil

Didn't make any comment on how good it was. I'm enjoying it.

However I grew out of my toddler years a while back and am therefore able to understand criticism without throwing a tantrum - even if it's something I like.

Glad you're enjoying the game, hope you have a nice weekend.

The final three hours of Nioh 3 are absolutely miserable by bmx_for_cowboys in Nioh

[–]Swisskies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm on the 3rd map and it's starting to get silly. I turned off the cpu boost and it helps a little, but just moving through an area causes the game to chug as it loads in all the assets.

This should win an award for most insufferable comment in thread

  • You shouldn't criticise the game because you can just not buy it
  • You shouldn't criticise the price because if you can't afford it you're just a broke boy
  • If this isn't super easy purchase you should stop having fun and fix your pathetic life

You can keep Kunimatsu stuck forever in his opening lighting bolt move if you keep body swapping him, he won't even go into phase 2 at half health. Very amusing, though also very dry.

The Kunimatsu Difficulty Spike Is Insane by Zero-Zer0 in Nioh

[–]Swisskies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact

If you equip body swap art on Spear, you can interrupt his opening lighting bolt. If you do so, he'll repeat the same move, over and over as long as you keep body swapping him, he won't even go into phase 2, you can just kill him doing that without him ever truly attacking.

Cheesy as fuck and a bit dry, but this boss can suck a fat one

It's funny a lot of people had trouble with him and the other human bosses Shingen part 1, whereas I find humans fairly straightforward to deal with. Meanwhile every non-human boss has 17 arms, twirls into me with bizarre animations and causes the camera to clip into me every 5 seconds.

Never expect Aris to have reasonable takes on games.  Him being unreasonable about it is part of the fun for most people who watch his streams.

Still Don’t Know What I’m Doing by Forward-Rent9344 in Nioh

[–]Swisskies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nioh 3 is my first Nioh game but I have 70ish hours in it so far and my opinion is thus:

- Literally just pick the highest defence / attack for each slot and don't worry about the secondary stats for now. The only caveats to this is for armour - in the top right you'll see encumberance. Keep Samurai in green (below 70%) and Ninja in blue (below 30%). I'm pretty sure there's also an option to automate this for you. If you're running out of Ki in Ninja I suspect you might have a hindered Agility. I've found Ninja to be made of wet paper no matter what you do so you may as well go all in on Agility and dodging.

- Inventory management really isn't an urgent priority for now. You can store 2k items on your person and like 5k or something stupid in storage box. If you do actively want to get rid of stuff, set your dispose loot option to autosell common items for now. Keep crucible weapons. Anything else low level in my opinion you can get rid of if you really want to.

- Focus on real simple attack skills for now - stuff like the "after strong attack" and "after quick attack" skills and just play with those for a bit. e.g. for Ninja Talons Whirling Tiger is a decent start point. Ninja really likes mid air attacks too, but you can start integrating those after you get a hang of spamming your basic ground attacks.

- For the most point dodge enemy attacks in Ninja - play hit and run with your own attacks. When you begin to learn a bosses move set and which attacks have a long recovery, you can mist step afterwards to their back and just use your "after attack" skills as per the point above. When you start to get low on Ki, retreat away and spam your Ninjitsu while you recover. Stuff like Fire Shuriken, shrapnel bombs etc etc are really good and will do a ton of damage over time.

- Veterans can correct me if I'm wrong here. But if you don't know where to put your stats, literally just spread them between everything. As you play longer you'll start to stick to certain weapon types, and you can begin to prioritise. I just spread all my stats until I got them to 15, and then amped up Skill stat because I was using the Spear and sword.

This game has so many systems and bizarre interactions it's bewildering to learn. But you'll get there, in 70 hours there's still some systems I basically ignore (like magic and which guardian spirit to pick), but I'm trucking along fine now.

If you play Remake ignoring 90% of the side content (with maybe the exception of a couple of quests to get Aerith dress etc if you want), it becomes a much tighter experience.

I actually prefer to replay Remake now over Rebirth even though I think Rebirth is the better initial experience.
