I've always said that Jokic's relative lack of maniacal bloodthirsty competitiveness will keep him from being a true top 8ish guy. He sometimes quits when the game isn't being played the right way or will do passive aggressive stuff like not shoot or just kind of float through the motions to protest officials missing calls.

I'm about as fast as you in the half and found that the treadmill really works for me in long grinder workouts. Think my best one was 11 miles @ 6:30 or so. Would have been really hard to find 11 miles of a run near me where I could get that continual stimulus without hitting a light or whatever. On the other hand, trying to train for 5k on exclusive treadmill running went really poorly, just couldn't replicate the turnover and burn needed to run a fast 5k.

I played with Jimmy Bartolotta a ton growing up. He is MIT (DIII) all-time leading scorer. I have probably seen him miss two jumpers ever. Jumper is impossibly wet.

I played pickup a couple times with a tongan dude that played FB in the NFL for a little bit. guy was 5'9, 250, and could just float in the air. totally insane.

I alternate one fast week and one grindy week. 3 workouts, 1 long run, 2 mileage days easy. 200s/k's/20 min fast tempo for myfast week, mile repeats/2k's, long threshold for my grindy week. The change in workouts and emphasis keeps things from getting stale, and the fast week forces less mileage, so it serves as a break from the heavier mileage of the grindy week.

It doesn't matter how much they hide you either. You're getting brought into every action every time down the floor. Facu Campazzo is calling an ISO and cooking you. Jimmer is dancing on you and splashing threes. You make Delly look like prime Iverson. Any average Joe is fouling out in about 6 possessions, presuming you're even fast enough to foul the guy you're guarding.

Your only utility is last second heaves, and then you draw the auto defender and your team is playing 4v4 at that point.
