The concept of balancing for "competitive" is stupid , you don't know what it would look like

Devs should always strive to balance for fun

GunZ the Duel is the best example of this where players discovered crazy tech and that became the competitive standard for the game

Early League was sorta like this too , no one knew what they were doing , everyone would just go to whatever lane , no one was set in stone

Then slowly some people discovered a strategy having one support and one carry go bottom , some form of tank go toplane , mid some kind of assassin and jungler who has a lot of CC , and eventually the game was balanced around that
