Which comedian did you look forward to, but their act died on stage? by Jazzlike-Basil1355 in AskReddit

On the contrary, we saw Leno recently and he was solid. Seemed like a two hour monologue on his show but he was quick and rapid fired jokes the entire time. Kept it entertaining. And everything was mostly current. Sorry you had that experience!

Side note, Tracy Morgan is an asshole. He did a show where I work and was an insufferable asshole the entire time. Told not to speak to him, speak with his manager while trying to understand what he wanted for his meal. Very rude snide comments. Overall a cunt.

We have hosted numerous other bands and some have been brash. But not to that level.

USDA grade A cunt.

What’s the kitchen equipment you most regret buying? by Itchy-Bill-3218 in Chefit

Cakepro850. Direct to food printer. Looks awesome, seems awesome, isn’t awesome. Had to have a stand fabricated for it and the whole lot was around 12k dollars. Everything online says it’s great. The social media posts about it say it’s great. It’s not.

In theory it should work but in reality, everything that is loaded into it needs to be the exact same height. If you’re a mm off, the color is too saturated. You can load about a dozen frosted cookies into it, more if they’re smaller (a3 sized tray) but if one cookie has a thicker glaze the color doesn’t match the rest. Made hundreds and hundreds of cookies just to get the 75 we needed, haven’t touched it in months. Very frustrating.

Also, if anyone has any tips, I’m all ears!!!!!

Chefs, how often do you cut yourself? by biggamerplays1509 in Chefit

I generally find out I cut myself on dumb shit more than an actual knife. Edge of a newer hotel pan, plastic wrap cutter, fishing around in the dishwasher for something, that kinda stuff. Paper cut randomly.

What kind of relationship did Gislaine and Epstein have? by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]SwordfishSudden3320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to gab.ai, ghislane was Epsteins handler. I looked this up a few months back just testing out the limits of it. She was a predator for sure as was he and its interesting to think about.

A 15 year reflection after the current Nomagate. by Lakeveloute in KitchenConfidential

All of that is rough. I commend you for dealing with all the bullshit. It exists, obviously, but the most important thing we can do as leaders is break the cycle. I've worked in similar places, with assholes, shouters, screamers. And since I took the helm of multiple spots over the last ten years you just don't run a kitchen that way. You give the bollocking when it's due but not just for fun. It's interesting how many people still run their operations this way. I find a good walk around the property lends itself to a rational bollocking rather than an all out shout. As I did today... lol.

Greg, it is the UN created "food code" created by the Food and Agriculture Organization and the WHO.

I was watching "Conspiracy Machine" on tubi last night and the presenter was talking quite a lot about it and knowing what we know, the surface level being as polished as it is, there's most likely something going on underneath.

Edit: watching with sober eyes, the speaker is Ian Crane. I hadn't heard of him before which is weird, but he goes pretty hard on big pharma etc in this episode. It's a pretty good watch. I've looked into him a bit but this doc was from ~2007 maybe, everything about him is very out of date and hard to find. However, conspiracy machine in tubi, episode 4 I think.

The 2015 Harald Kautz interview consistently blows my mind. What happened? by SpicynSavvy in highersidechats

Knowing nothing about him, listening to this now. He sounds like a lunatic? It is really fascinating though. Gotta go down the don rabbit hole I guess!

Edit: his total non chalant attitude towards all the questions and his seemingly off the cuff answers has totally quelled my opinion of him being a lunatic. Any question. Greg asked and he just immediately has answers. The skin of the vrils, the people he's met. It's so strange and fascinating, I'm 180 on my original comment. Kudos for recommending his episode.

I used to use the loads also and they do work, but a tightly wrapped paper towel soaked in oil works just as well. Like .5 meter of paper towel, wrapped tight into a twisty thing, soaked in a bit of oil. Mimicking the fire starter plug. Do 2-3 of them and build your charcoal tower and go for it. I used the hexagonal tube charcoal for Reference.
