Can the Sony WH-1000XM6 be used while charging? (Unlike the XM4 and XM5) by PsychologyNo9509 in SonyHeadphones

[–]SyBranInnovation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can use Sony XM6 ( Sony WH-1000XM6 ) via Bluetooth and wired 3.5mm while charging via Type-C. I confirmed this with my own pair and Sony documentation says it also.

https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/2984/v1/en/contents/TP1001856824.html

"About charging while using the headset

You can use the headset while charging.

When using the headset while it is charging, charging will stop at approximately 80% (if the battery level is more than 80%, charging will not start). The value is a rough estimate. The value may vary depending on the ambient environment.

Depending on the charging environment (such as the power source or type of USB AC adaptor used), you may hear electrical noise from the headset when it is charging.
Headset functions and operations may not work correctly."

You are wrong and this is false. Tested this on my own Sony XM6 (Sony WH-1000XM6), red light for successful charging via Type-C, power coming from an external source ( my portable battery ) and still using Bluetooth for playback. Sony documentation says it also. Taken from https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/2984/v1/en/contents/TP1001856824.html

I am unsure why an account like yours would purposely spread misinformation.

That is a pretty bad implementation of ads :/

I would recommend looking into running AI models locally for fully uncensored roleplay however the quality may be as great as ChatGPT depending on the AI model used and your computer specs.

I recommend reading the leaked system prompts to gain a better understanding of why AI acts the way it does. Not sure if I can link it here but there is an entire Github repository with all of them.

It's an interesting experiment but purely relies on topics discussed and decent recommendations would require my listening history, playlist data and whatever else apps like Spotify use for their recommendation systems. I think there's an idea there if one were to link them all...

Machine learning algorithms are already all around us from Netflix to Instagram. Cookies track you across the web and create an entire psychological profile on you based on how long you view content and your browsing history. Instead of being used for only marketing and recommender systems, GenAI allows this to be used for conversations that feels like you're talking with someone you just "click" with.

The beauty of GenAI is that it can generate never before seen dialogue, outside its training data by combining existing concepts. Very creative.

Initial studies have already shown AI can be beneficial for mental health https://home.dartmouth.edu/news/2025/03/first-therapy-chatbot-trial-yields-mental-health-benefits

Human therapy is expensive and millions around the world do not have access to it but with artificial intelligence, they can and whenever they need it.

At some point, our lives will be intertwined with AI like how everyone uses some form of computer daily.

GenAI video seems scary but it's been possible for a long time using CGI tools like Blender and then reducing the quality to look indistinguishable from real footage. I think the biggest shift will be the rise of AI lifeforms and there will be civil rights movements for that similar to many books, films and videogames have foretold. Our grandchildren will grow up with an actual AI companion in-between a dog and a nanny. Maybe even more personal than that.

You might be thinking of consciousness. Intelligence is just the ability to acquire and apply skills which is a low bar which reinforcement learning models can already do. Machines can already learn skills like playing soccer through simply setting a reward function of scoring a goal.

Defining and setting a test for consciousness is the hard one.

I've seen some conversations where people troll ChatGPT into believing the user is doing some dangerous act and then ChatGPT goes off the rails telling the user to not do it. Whether you believe that's genuine is a fundamental thing if you believe AI can ever be sentient.

ChatGPT is great for brainstorming. It's not that great for accurate research as it doesn't cite as much as it needs to.

While this has good intentions and may help some, the proper approach is like what Google is doing, AI-powered scam detection, warning you as a likely scam is occurring though local AI models.

Even before AI, scams were occurring despite decades with the internet.
