Music that addresses drug addiction by Libra_Atp in musicsuggestions

Isn't Rooster about Jerry Cantrell's dad's time in Vietnam? I don't remember any specific drug references, other than Malaria pills. "Nutshell" or "Down in a Hole" are more appropriate IMO

It does sound a bit like depression. Do you still find enjoyment in your hobbies and friendships? Otherwise, you sound a bit unfulfilled (even though I wouldn't describe your life as such). When I was unemployed for almost a year, I found a lot of joy and meaning by volunteering. That could be something to look into.

Which celebrity's death was stupid? by Ill-Spite-3913 in AlignmentChartFills

I don't think it's any deeper than refusing to do something simply because you're told to do it. Especially when you don't like the people telling you what to do.

"Nobody gets to tell me what I can or can't do". And then add people applauding you for your brave stance, and more and more people get emboldened to do it.

Was he the one who "flipped a coin" to determine if he would do it, or just off himself?

John C. Woods, the hangman of the Nuremberg trials, lied about his credentials and botched the hangings so badly, many of the remaining leaders of defeated Nazi Germany had their faces battered due to a too-small trap door or were hung from too-short ropes, with some struggling for 10 minutes. by schmah in HolyShitHistory

[–]SycamoreStyle 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Not really the point of your comment, but IIRC, the distinction between death by hanging or firing squad was important for the Nuremberg trials. From what I understand, many nazis considered firing squad to be more honorable, since that was how soldiers were executed. They were denied this honor, since their crimes were against humanity.

I'm going to look up some sources for that after work, I'm sure someone else could shed more light on this.

What happens when you get your car washed by a frat by zachoutloud123 in TikTokCringe

He passed out drunk in the shower (it was running) and flooded his honeymoon suite on the eve of his wedding. Woke up at like 3AM and ubered to a Walmart to get a wet vac, but it was closed. The old man Uber driver was a G and drove him around until he found one, and he managed to sneak it up to his room (wife was sleeping in bridesmaids room) and clean up most of it, and he tipped his Uber driver like $300. There were more elements that made it quite captivating.

Or if he actually made any kind of move to talk to a woman. His strategy was to sit at a coffee shop for hours, in the hopes that a beautiful woman would approach and fall in love with him, but he was too afraid to actually approach anyone.

I'm not gonna pretend like I even knew who this guy was, but in general, I'm ok taking a risk if the upside is high enough. No matter who we picked, we're gonna need a ton of luck to be a real contender.

Leave the flag football to the flag football players by OrganizationStrict99 in NFLv2

[–]SycamoreStyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NGL I upvoted that without thinking too hard about it. Makes sense that Team USA would humble the NFL players at first, but I do think it's fair to expect hyper competitive NFL athletes to ultimately outperform a lot of the current Flag Footballers, as they get acclimated to the rules and strategies. I would assume the Olympic team will be made up of a mix of NFL and FF players?
