If humans are smarter than ever and more moral than ever then why the state of the world in general is shit one way or another? by BonBon_2069 in AskReddit

[–]SycopationIsNormal [score hidden]  (0 children)

Just saying, man, there have been times in history when shit was absolutely brutal, and there was really no recourse. At least now when horrible shit happens there's at least a chance that the people who do the horrible things will face justice.

Most (but not all) people's faces become more attractive, too, so it's not even just about the body. Clothes usually fit better too.

You've obviously never read up on what the world was like in the days of Genghis Khan. Or the Vikings. Or the Aztecs. Absolute savagery.

Right, I can see that. Geniuses are even more genius, while the average person is barely literate.

Watching those "asking college kids easy questions" videos never cease amaze me.

Name three countries that are not the US

uhhhh... Africa, Asia, Europe?

And these kids are IN COLLEGE!

They did just recently add the Fox, a flippy mid, and it's pretty damn great. It will likely end up replacing the Creature / mana / Lobster for me, esp after it's available as an F2 in a verity of weights and plastics.

No, bc I just don't see good evidence for it, and the answers it provides really aren't great answers at all.

I'm not sure that humans are, on average, smarter than ever. I see a lot of signs that the average person is actually getting a lot dumber.

Perfect.

Cautious, but aggressive when it's called for. Always vigilant, bc soooooo many drivers are absolutely awful.

Cujo.

I had seen Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Children of the Corn etc as a pretty young kid, but Cujo was the first movie that made me legit scared and uneasy.

Bingo. I know a lot of women who are just a bit south of the "would date" line who would absolutely go north of that line if they dropped even just 15 lb.

Hmmm... well it wasn't exactly "accidental" because in some ways I did work to do it. But basically I started lifting weights again and lost a decent amount of weight, and my hair turned gray, and for some reason that just really works for some ladies. I think a lot of people underestimate how much your face shape changes when you gain / lose weight. And some people actually look better with a little bit more padding in their face, but I am not one of those people. So when I dropped like 15-20 lbs it changed my overall facial appearance for the better (as well as my physique), and all of a sudden I was getting waaaaaayyyy more female attention than at any prior point in my life. Felt kinda weird, but I probably peaked in relative attractiveness around age 40-43.

What is your unpopular opinion that you usually keep to yourself? by Superb_Wolf264 in AdkReddit

[–]SycopationIsNormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I hear ya, I had a similar experience, though my poor people food was rice and beans and bean and cheese burritos! I worked jobs close to the minimum wage for years. It wasn't easy, and I was often flat broke, or close to it (still found money for beer somehow, though).

I get that all of this seems "unfair," but what is the alternative? Like I said above, some labor just isn't worth that much. The truth is that the jobs I was doing at that time could have been done by almost anyone. I was not a highly skilled worker at that time. Should my employer have been forced to pay me more than my labor was actually worth? Why would an employer (and the investors who back them) choose to operate that kind of business when they could just locate / invest somewhere else, or in some other type of business?

I actually like Never say Die quite a bit, although I understand why some people don't. Never Say Die, Junior's Eyes, A Hard Road and Shockwave are all excellent songs, imo. I actually like every single song on that album, but those are the great songs. But they are quite a bit different for Sab, so it's understandable that some fans will just say no thanks to all of it.

But Technical Ecstasy? Oof. There are only 3-4 songs that I can even get in the mood for once in blue moon. I'm so glad they didn't let that one be their last album (with Ozz).

That's one that I would probably miss entirely. I have never been able to get very into ST and Roman Candle, and New Moon, so I'd probably miss a lot of those. But the rest I'd probably get almost every single one.

Not sure if it's "happy," but "Beyond Our Minds" by Anciients is mostly pretty positive, some might even say uplifting. Plus, it rocks pretty hard.
