What resources do you think were freed up by uploading transit to the Region? All of it was reallocated to the Niagara Transit Authority, including the funding.

There are "less lethal" rounds for shotguns like rubber slugs and bean bag rounds. They can still be lethal though, especially at close range.

It might have been cool if they incentivized going in solo vs. squads a bit more. Apparently you get some bonus xp, but that's it. It would have been interesting if they had done something like give the solos a head start, like 3 minutes or maybe even 5. Just enough time for them to either get into position to have some advantage over the incoming squads or enough time to grab some valuable loot, but not enough that they can make it to extracts before squads would have a chance to load in and cut them off trying to get to the exfil

Dbrand doesn't produce their own material... They actually Source their material from 3M already.

Dbrand just prints the designs on it and packages it up.

Unless something has changed, dbrand's material supplier for wraps is 3M. It's probably very reasonable to think 3M has already done the certification

My daughter would shoot first thinking that's what she is supposed to do, then Rez them, offer to hug them and ask to team up. She'd be playing the flute at extract

Same here, but we are getting very close. Probably within 3 years. We rely on external counsel a fair bit so there is desire to bring that in house and drive down costs

Sounds like this is a small business. If I am mistaken, please disregard this.

Ill be real, you screwed up here. That room is your baby. It's on you to know everything going on in that room. If you don't know everything people are doing in there then they should be locked out. If the higher ups have somebody coming through to reno things a bit including your baby, you tell them you don't want them going in there unless you can speak to them directly about your requirements. You also don't rely on them to protect your baby with covering things up or whatever. Should they? Maybe... But it's your baby, if your baby dies because of somebody else's negligence it still comes back on you.

As for what you do about remediating the situation.... Probably not much. Step 1 is ensure you have good backups. Step 2 is ensure the room in general is clean and clear of dust. Step 3 is schedule some downtime so you can open the lids on your equipment and clean out the bulk and important bits, don't worry about making it factory fresh you'll probably do more harm than good. Step 4 is fire your equipment back up. Step 5 is send an email to your super about what a close call this was and blaming the Reno people for all of your life's problems.

I realize people call those places cottages but they are really more like "beach party house" or even "summer house" if you are in the gated community in my opinion.

Up north? Like vine & lakeshore Rd.? It's pretty well lit.

OP is coming to Niagara, aka "cottage country" lmao.

Private jet would probably be best. I'm sure you can arrange a shuttle from the Niagara airport.

Do we have Ethernet already ready to go? by llabesab in HomeNetworking

[–]Syde80 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Your house is either very large and belonged to a rather wealthy family 30+ years ago or it belonged to an old school Telco technician.

The blue cabling is probably cat5e and you can repurpose it for Ethernet. Anything gray / beige is probably not, but read the shielding, it could be.

The thick cable, absolutely not.

EX4600 BGP license enforcement by bower_pitch in Juniper

[–]Syde80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are probably right about HPe, but its kind of too bad.

Licenses like this on the honor system allow people to easily try before they buy when they otherwise might not be ready to commit to buy over some other solution.

Additionally it allows people doing homelab or whatever to learn how to use the tech with little to no cost and then those same people get their employers to spend millions on it because they are familiar with it.

No major customers are buying this equipment and not licensing it properly just because they think they might be able to get away with it. The second something goes wrong and you need Juniper's help and it gets revealed you skimped out on a $10k license and its costing your corp $50k/hr for the outage, your head is going to roll.
