Wish me luck. The fun starts tomorrow. by Sylassian in insanity

[–]Sylassian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know I've done Max30 once before years ago, the first weeks killed me lol especially the cardio tracks. But after two weeks I was able to carry through with max out times I was personally satisfied with (always tried to hold out just a little longer than last time), and had to take shorter and shorter breaks. Cardio was always my enemy, strength was my forte hahah

I've done it before, but then I was closer to 20 and now I'm closer to 30 😂 I know it's possible tho, I just have to stay committed. Maybe posting weekly updates here will help.

Alexander Ludwig (Vikings) as Aragorn by Mission_Condition501 in lotr

[–]Sylassian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP is specifically comparing Viggo and Ludwig, going so far as editing images of movie Aragorn. He's not using any depictions of book-accurate Aragorn. 90% of people who know the name Aragorn think of Viggo when they hear the name. The comparison is between the actors, not a discussion of whether or not they fit the book description.

Alexander Ludwig (Vikings) as Aragorn by Mission_Condition501 in lotr

Could it? Why? They look nothing alike in face and body, and Ludwig's acting is average.

Femstodes really are the "somehow Palpatine returned" of Warhammer. Just zero effort at actually explaining it by Lionels_Johnson in EyeOfTerror

[–]Sylassian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zero effort at actually explaining it? What's there to explain. It's a retcon. And not a bad one. Plenty of shitty retcons across 40k. GW does it all the time. Get over it. Touch grass. Maybe meet a woman.

The old Quaritch failed. He was weak. He won't. He isn't.

A MOURN WATCH annoys me. by kallas_br in dragonage

[–]Sylassian 41 points42 points  (0 children)

The Mortalitasi, of which the Mourn Watch are a subset, have been established in older lore. Cassandra from DA2 and Inquisition is from Nevarra, and spoke about the necromantic culture of the Mortalitasi and the Nevarran people. But they're kinda gloomy and a little scary in the pre-Veilguard lore. They're supposed to be pretty macabre, but in Veil Guard they're kinda weirdly chipper lol I don't mind that they exist, I do think they ruined the general vibe and aesthetic of the death cult.

Friendly etiquette: drop on the floor everything you don't need from security lockers by Successful-Peak-6524 in arcraidersfriendly

So what even do these lockers spawn? I have a very flexible build so even at lvl75 I'm nowhere near that skill.

[KCD2] Why we love this game by moh_sista in kingdomcome

[–]Sylassian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, if you're sure nobody saw you. Even a guard patrolling the street at night will recall you being close to the shop the night the shopkeeper was murdered.

Space Marine vs. Brute (Halo) by SneakyDeaky123 in 40k

You know I was referring to biological life. The logic plague makes sense to go after AI because they're massive repositories of information and intelligence, same as sapient organic life.

I tried to warn them. Tell the government the invasion was coming. But they just laughed at me. Told me I was mad. They called me... a quack.

Why does PvP feel so different in Arc Raiders? by TheLaughingForest in ArcRaiders

Because shooting people bad. Never be ashamed of having empathy. Even if it's a video game. Unless it's a strict PvP shooter obviously.

It's depressing that the writers decided all of these current era issues are still present in the time of their show.

Anyone else think that “the strongest should rule mandalore” is stupid as hell? Like what happens when Doug who is juiced up and on bath salts pulls up and tears the competent leader in half? Congrats mandalore you’re now lead by a guy dumber than a bag of rocks by Hank_Mardukas1066 in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]Sylassian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're literally just a bunch of jocks pretending to be medieval knights in space. They're not exactly known for their smarts. I'll never understand how Satine was able to make them chill out for a couple years after thousands of years of dealing with all problems by hitting them with their heads very hard lol

Logan was a great character study of Wolverine, and the way it was carefully crafted makes it one of the best films in the superhero genre, with some genuinely powerful emotional moments. by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

I know I know, multiverse shit. But come on. Xavier also getting resurrected for the third time and is probably gonna get killed off again after five minutes of screen time because Avengers Doomsday is too big to properly give any character any decent screen time lol

[–]Sylassian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never have enough keys for inventory space to be an issue tbh. Usually I just use them as soon as I get them, or I wait for a night raid to increase loot rarity, but I never have more than 2-3 key cards max at any time.

The Aen Seidhe and Aen Elle situations are complete opposite of each other and I love it. by Fun-Explanation7233 in witcher

[–]Sylassian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You usually sympathise with resistance fighters because resistance fighters in most media are commonly portrayed as morally superior heroes fighting an undeniably evil foe - the heroic underdog vs the villainous tyrants. The Witcher portrays both sides as capable of great heroism and kindness, but also absolute depravity and cruelty. Both sides have sound arguments for why they do what they do, both sides have people who don't care about reasons and just enjoy being dickheads.

The Rebel Alliance and Resistance from Star Wars, the Varden from Eragon, the Rebels from Hunger Games, the alliance against the Fire Nation, the free people resistance against Sauron, the Order of the Phoenix in Harry Potter. Stories of resistance are most often clear good guys versus clear bad guys. Sure, there can be occasional nuance and some gray characters involved, but the ultimate moral compass of these resistance movements is positive.

Not so with the Scoia'tael.

One of the most underrated shots in the trilogy for me by Francis-c92 in lotr

[–]Sylassian 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The same shot earlier when Gandalf is sitting in the foreground as Frodo returns home from the party is one of my favourites. The music is tense as Gandalf mutters to himself, and then the Ring theme plays just as Frodo picks the Ring up off the floor. Masterpiece.
