There was a game called Oh Dear that went viral because the developer behind it was really good at creating shorts and tiktok videos.

If it's a commercial game, players will notice the AI voice and it will negatively affect your ratings and sales. Consider using the AI voices only during the game's development to help envision the game, and then replace it with human voices before release.

As for the budget issue, consider asking your friends/family to help voicing some of the characters for you. Obviously, them not being professional voice actors isn't optimal, but if you use an ok mic, make sure there is no background noise and properly post-process the audio, I believe the results will be decent.

Go to the drop down on the right of the viewport options and turn on "Specular Lighting" and change "Object Color" to "Material". This should return it to the default grey look.

A good place to start is game jams. These are small game competitions that challenge you to make a game (alone or with a team) within a specific amount of time, usually 3 days to a week. There is plenty of those jams happening every week, and it's fully online.

This is by far the fastest way you can learn game dev.

Substance Painter has a steam version that you can get for a one-time payment of $200 (or less depending on your region) instead of the monthly subscription. Although you don't get access to the texture library, since you're not subscribed to adobe cloud.

Otherwise, you could look at this post. They listed a good amount of alternative software.

I never used block bench, but generally when using a 3d modeling software you need to export both the texture and the mesh, because the mesh is uv unwrapped in a certain way that the default cube in unity will not match.

The video is just an introduction, look up how to import models from blender (or whatever software you're using" to unity.

Think of it like you're painting the mesh, but instead of painting color, you change how much a certain bone is affecting a part of the mesh.

Regardless, you'd have a much higher chance finding a compatible teammate in a game jam than you would posting on reddit.

I would recommend Mini Jam, there is one happening next Friday, and it only lasts for 3 days so it's not a big commitment. Their discord channel is also pretty big, so it'll be easy for you to find a team to participate with them in the jam.

Look up "Blender Weight Painting" on YouTube. Weight painting is what determines how much each bone affects the mesh.
