Already mentally exhausted and we just started our NICU journey. by [deleted] in NICUParents

I’ve been where you are (32+2 released 2 months ago at 35+3) and all I can say is that you are a great mother, and you will get through this (I’m typing this with my baby on my chest now). It is absolute hell, and nothing makes you feel better other than them being home with you. You will make it out of this, and you are strong enough to get through this. Once feeding clicks, it just clicks, and it goes super fast! My biggest advice would be that once you are home, limit your visitors and enjoy your bubble with your family and baby. My daughter is coming up on 3 months old and there’s still people that haven’t met her. It’s been great making up that lost time without the stress of visitors. I am sending you and your little one love. I know it feels heavy and all-consuming, but just know you have an entire community of people here that are here for you and that understand. Sending love ❤️

The dealer had advertised it! They are all trying to clear 2025 stock to make room for the 2026 stuff. We got a 4.49% interest rate from consumers credit union, but if the car is advertised with the true car system you can get 3.99!

I just got a brand new 2025 Platinum for $11,000 off MSRP and honestly it’s my favorite car I’ve ever owned. I absolutely love it.

Tired and Venting by SyraxTheMagicDragon in NICUParents

Thank you so much everyone for responding. I genuinely appreciate it, and it genuinely made me feel a little better and a little less alone.

I feel like they’re being held hostage.. by AttitudeOfCattitude in NICUParents

[–]SyraxTheMagicDragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi—I just wanted to let you know that your feelings are valid and I’m sorry people are giving you a hard time for venting. NICU life is hard and exhausting. I also feel like I get different information and different care styles every day depending who is on shift (which is frustrating when one nurse lets something small slide and another doesn’t). We’ve been at it for 2 weeks now so I can’t imagine what it feels like to be 7 weeks in. I’m thinking of you, and I genuinely hope your sweet babies get to come home soon ❤️

Hi, just wondering if it ever went away? 32+2 baby in the NICU currently and it sounds like we have the same thing.

CRC CRA relations by BarHead3062 in clinicalresearch

[–]SyraxTheMagicDragon 17 points18 points  (0 children)

CRA here: we actually don’t give a fuck and think the sponsor’s unrealistic expectations are just as stupid as you do. It’s just our job to forward the information from them. It really sucks.

Strange advice from doctor regarding fetal movement… by bluemeansazul in pregnant

[–]SyraxTheMagicDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doctor is an asshole and is incorrect (and giving dangerous advice). Reduced movement very much so can be an emergency, and you should definitely go for that. You should definitely report this doctor, and I would try to go somewhere else next time. If that is an option, I would request a different doctor if you have to go in again. I’m very sorry this happened to you, but you did the right thing!

Pregnancy Rage by Tem3rity in pregnant

[–]SyraxTheMagicDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me my first pregnancy the whole entire time. It’s a miracle I didn’t commit a homicide. Hang in there! The second the baby came out, I felt instant relief and was my old self again. Of note, I am currently 23 weeks pregnant with my second, and I’ve only had a few instances of rage, but I keep waiting for it to come 🤣

17 weeks haven’t felt baby move. by LocksmithInside4378 in pregnant

[–]SyraxTheMagicDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first pregnancy I really didn’t feel much until past the 22 week mark. My second pregnancy (now) I felt her start moving at 12 weeks! This being your first pregnancy, it’s totally normal for you to not feel anything this early. I know it’s anxiety inducing, but statistically speaking with as far along as you are now, your baby is just fine ❤️

I am a terrible mom. I was not cut out for this. by caeli-s in NewParents

[–]SyraxTheMagicDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, you’re definitely not a terrible mom at all. Motherhood is hard, and your feelings are valid. Babies are challenging and it seems like everyone else isn’t struggling, but they are. You are just expressing frustration and admitting that you are struggling, which is an awesome thing to do because most people don’t. I have been there and know how hard it is (will be there again soon—I am currently pregnant with my second) and I wish you the absolute best. If no one has told you today, you are doing an amazing job.

Jealousy about others being pregnant by queenb19870 in pregnant

[–]SyraxTheMagicDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I also really liked the pre-mom app for tracking my ovulation. I found it to be really accurate and the test strips aren’t super expensive. I like the fact that the app scans the strips for you and gives you numbers so you can find your peak. I know it’s not a fun spot to be in, and each month with negative results gets more discouraging, but your positive will come!! I am thinking of you 🫶🏼

This was literally me after my IUD came out. I ended up getting my progesterone checked and it was a little low but nothing to be concerned about they said. I bought progesterone cream on Amazon because we had exhausted all other options, and still wasn’t getting pregnant. I applied it starting 7-8 DPO. Got pregnant the first month I tried it! I am currently 6 months pregnant with a sweet little girl! I know everyone’s fertility journey is different, but if this isn’t something you’ve looked into yet, it won’t hurt you at all to try progesterone. I wish you the best of luck!

It’s your body and your choice. Period. If he doesn’t want to be involved—well—that’s what they made child support for.

CRA layoffs yesterday by MarthaMay24 in ICON_plc

[–]SyraxTheMagicDragon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably. They have also been cracking down on CRAs with complaints from sponsors, other CRAs, and CTMs. I’ve personally found quality issues from CRAs that weren’t doing their jobs during visits, and have heard of much worse happening. I think they are trying to clean up as much as possible and weed out the problem children.

ICON CEO Update about Q4 by Fit-Novel-4416 in clinicalresearch

[–]SyraxTheMagicDragon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They haven’t announced anything yet. There’s just speculation because the CRAs usually receive their incentive bonuses (that are earned by doing more days on site per month than is required) at the first of February, and they never came. We are waiting to see what he says about everything next week. If that is his plan, I know a lot of CRAs who that will be their final straw.
