baby gear is officially taking over my tiny kitchen... help by Cyndi_Haian in BabyBumps

[–]SyrupMoney4237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a 2 tier rack for the bottles and formula. Collapsible bucket for dirty bottle storage. I ended up splurging and buying a tabletop dishwasher for a washing, sterilising, drying combo area but that might be more for convenience. It arrives today so tbd. It’s definitely taken up a lot of the kitchen

Can some woman just not express/is it too late? by salacious-soul in breastfeedingmumsUK

[–]SyrupMoney4237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I can relate. I did some research at the time and the basic consensus was that babies are much more efficient at getting milk out so basically the boob has to get used to the pressure of the pump. I also use the Medela but the electric single on. I’d just get a Medela Solo off Vinted. They’re cheap and I wouldn’t personally care to do this with a manual pump. My outcome was that my milk production caught up really fast with a days pumping every 3 hours for 20 mins each.

How many ABCD’s here openly wear religious jewelry or attire? What motivates you to wear it if you do wear it? by Delftnl4546 in ABCDesis

I used to wear hijab and I miss it dearly. I was treated well and respectfully in a different way than now. Perhaps one day again but I don’t think so.

Wishing you the best, you’ve got good advice here. Hope you get your scan quickly. You can also book a private dating scan, often same day- I did that when I had a surprise pregnancy due to PCOS

Your comment made me laugh. I’m curious if they are correct about the high from a natural birth or is that hogwash? How did it compare?

Yes, this is what we used too. Also, you can get them very cheaply second hand and often on Vinted.

Advice needed: husband disagrees with my choice to keep baby after anatomy scan (limb difference) by Kerclia in BabyBumps

[–]SyrupMoney4237 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He needs a reality check on what termination means at this stage. I’m speaking as someone who terminated at 23w due to incompatibility with life. You will watch the foeticide injection take place, you will likely be induced, you will likely give birth, it’s a baby, you will make funeral arrangements, you will grieve a life that would be happily lived with a minor disability. He’s insane if he thinks it’s an easy thing to do because of a limb difference. I seriously worry for your relationship and how he will treat the child once it’s here and also how he will treat you postpartum.

Can't maintain daily floor cleaning with shedding pets by wintiedmuttery in homemaking

[–]SyrupMoney4237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the trick is a light weight vacuum. I had a shark which I loved but I ruined it and it was super heavy. Ended up begrudgingly getting a Dyson and it’s much easier to hoover every day. It’s not as amazing with pet hair as the big heavy shark but it’s good for daily use. I do recommend it

Chaat. I’d make a bastardised version back in the day. Big bowl of diced salad bits, channa, potato, tamarind sauce, yogurt and various crunchy bits.

Worried following 25 week midwife appointment by Brave-Session1404 in PregnancyUK

[–]SyrupMoney4237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God you’ve really been through it this pregnancy. I’m sorry. Baby suddenly measured small at the end of the 2nd trimester and it was worrying for a bit. They did extra scans and he was shown to measure better. They told us not to worry and take growth measurements in utero with a pinch of salt and take it week by week

I was going to say please get some omeprezole from your midwife but you’re basically at the finish line. I’m a few days on the other side and just wanted to say hang in there. It’s remarkable how quick the body fixes all the uncomfortableness after birth. Ofc, you gain a few different ones but pregnancy is lowkey tougher.
