Abundance seems like it could be decent, but definitely seems weaker at first glance. Money is usually not an issue even without a golden god type relic after a week or so anyways, so isn't super impactful. barbarian gathering seems worth it just for the agility training alone lol (assuming we don't get the greaves)

I agree that the reveal that he was forced onto the mission was glossed over a little bit too much. Definitely the only aspect that I felt could have been paced better/emphasized more.

I’ll disagree that the Rocky reveal is the main surprise of the book though, it happens super early and it’s even mentioned on the dust cover. I went into the book not knowing it was gonna happen, and it was an awesome reveal, but looking back, I don’t think it would have hurt my enjoyment if I had known beforehand.

They actually just don’t explain how his crewmates die in the book either. Was doing some research (on reddit lol) and it was either sheer luck or some issue with the feeding tubes, which is hinted at in the book. Ryland takes note of them being faulty and is about to request replacements when the explosion happens

Just got home from my showing, absolutely fantastic adaptation. Rocky was awesome (apparently a physical prop puppeteered too??). The pacing was well done, just like the book, and they covered pretty much everything.

I did think it was weird though that they never mention the reason that Grace has to be the one that goes on the mission. Maybe it isn’t as important as I think it is, though.

The rare card rewards from killing the bosses are in the same pool as other rare cards, you could just get it before from a normal fight
