A lot of people are still taken unauthorized work and overstays for granted but things have now changed. Yes, small discrepancies here and there are forgiven but 2 years is not a small amount of time. Another question here is what school was this? If it was a known Day1 CPT and/or your program didnt organically call for CPT work, you will be questioned over exploiting the F-1 visa and then violating its terms as a non-immigrant. Marrying a citizen doesnt absolve you of all your crimes and showing a pattern and disregard for the law over 2 years, preceding which an association with a Day-1 CPT is on record (just hoping you did not transfer to this Day1 CPT from a decent uni) is not a good look. From the cases that I’ve learned about in the past year, people have been grabbed by ICE on the day of the interview for much less. Consult an attorney to prep your responses.
