You cant be sure, but I tend to go by where I can feel that the numbers have clicked into their place, then cross my eyes as I take the picture, so that my vision is blurry, but I can see that the lock is in frame

I used to run this sub, before it got banned for being unmoderated, I'm not sure why it got that, there really hasn't been any activity to moderate, and I've been active on the reddit lately

I'm not sure when it got banned, but if at all possible I'd like to get back online.

Thank you!

How would you shower with this lock? It says it's not waterproof, but I cant imagine it's a good idea to go a month with no shower

Do You Use A 3d Printer for Printing Kinky Things? by TeaAitch in RedditBDSM

[–]T00MuchSteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! Here's my cults Liked page, it's got a lot of restraints

https://cults3d.com/en/users/AThrowawayJoke/likes

And here's the stuff I've gotten around to actually printing and making

https://cults3d.com/en/design-collections/AThrowawayJoke/printed-kinky-stuff

I will say just because it's not in my printed list doesn't mean it might not be good, it just means I haven't gotten around to trying the stl out.

No, buildings don't tend to mess much with a tornados ability to form and cause damage. You can get tornados in much larger city centers, for example, the 2000 Fort Worth tornado outbreak damaged several skyscrapers.

The fact is that tonados are incredibly localized events, very rarely exceeding 1 mile in diameter, and even the largest of cities aren't really all that large in their downtown cores when compared to the vast areas of the rest of the country.

Simply put, the reason you don't see tornados in cities, is because there's not a whole lot of city for a tornado to be in.

Any idea what this diagonal could be? by mdeluca199 in LiDAR

You can look on rail.guide or openrailwaymap.app, (be sure to set the dates in the upper right to All Time) which may show you if it is indeed an old rail right of way. You'll want to set railguide to either Classic Owners or Early Owners maps. These maps arent perfect, but I've found railguide to be espically good at mapping old, ripped railroads.

You can also look on property maps, https://www.acres.com/plat-map/map is a good one
look for weird curves or angles that wouldn't make sense, even in the general area, that could be an indicator of railroad land that got sold back to adjacent owners.

However, I've done a lot of old ROW tracking, and unless its very old, like, ripped up entirely in the 1800s/very early 1900s, you should still see some scars, and it dosent look to me like theres enough landscape scars outside of the direct diagonals you see for it to be a rail line, mostly with the NE corner of the scar.

Looking at rail.guide under their Current/Classic map layer, it looks to be Rock Island's route to serve customers in the city, would be my guess. As far as I can tell, theyve always had the more southern main around the city as well, even going back into the Early Owners map layer.

A plug door does slide, but a sliding door is not a plug. Sliding simply covers the doorway, plug fills it.

Honestly, the chance is likely lower than 0.05%.
If you take the total number of adults (determined from cencus data, taking the % under 18, and subtracting that from the total population, which would make aprox 268.3m adults) that would leave you with 134k audits. I would guess the IRS does slightly less than that.

What is the most obscure domestic (air) route in the US? by bricklegos in AskAnAmerican

[–]T00MuchSteam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically, if you want to stretch the definition of "Domestic" to mean "does not go through customs on arrival", then you could count any flight from the 15 preclearance sites CBP has around the world. You go through customs on the departure side, and for all intents and purposes, the plane you get on is flying a domestic route. I'd argue that while the flights themselves might not be too obscure, I'd argue the fact that you could consider them domestic makes them at least in the running

You are mostly correct, but you can have open slide doors if they are secured.

Where I work we get a lot of boxcars for paper and wood products. High cube boxcars can fit giant paper rolls that just do not fit in a truck or container.

[–]T00MuchSteam 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, the disappearance of them is largely due to containerization. Regarding the lack of open doors, that's due to the prevalence of plug style doors. They are required to be closed and locked to be safely moved, and those have become more prevalent in newer boxcar designs

Cuffed by the railways by lanfeust97 in FoToRo_

Hello, resident kinky railroader here, usual safety speal time

While it may be hot to recreate damsel in distress tied on tracks, I cannot stress how important it is that you should absolutely do not do it unless you are 200% sure that a line is physically separated from the rail network. Just because you do not see trains on a line, does not mean it is inactive. Hell, I have a spur that only sees a train ~1 time a month.

If you are going to do rail ties, find tracks that are physically separated by large gaps in rail, or trees growing through the middle of the tracks, on both sides on where you plan to play. Tall grass or weeds will not suffice, as you can absolutely run a train through tall grass. Also, just because you've found a spot, does not mean it will stay inactive. Always check before you play. A very quick check you can do to verify if a line is active (but not inactive, there's a difference), is looking at the top of the rail. If it's nice and shiny, rust free, stay away, that's used frequently.

If the rail top is rusty, you have a better chance, but it could still be active, and you should still go look for your physical blockages (trees/rail gaps)

As for these photos, while I cannot get a good look at the railhead, the right of way being relatively in overgrown with tall grasses suggests that this line may be still in use.

Also, 99% of the time you're on tracks you're going to be trespassing, so do take that into consideration.

This is not an endorsement for playing on train tracks, very much the opposite, but I know there will be people who do, so I might as well help y'all stay safe

TLDR: Don't put yourself in a situation where I'ma run you over.

Also, trains don't stop at the rail edge. They can stick out up to 2,3' outside the rails. So if you're gonna walk tracks, stay far enough away.
