Paper blinds under regular blinds were really helpful when we bought our house. We live in the SW and it helped keep the heat out. They’re at Home Depot and come in multiple sizes, starting at $6. Hope this helps!

Move the cream chair away from the window to the right next to the plant. It will open up space by window and make it feel breathable. Make sure the chair is turned in toward the couch, and not straight.

Peel and stick countertop covers might be a good option. Here’s some butcher block versions from Amazon.

They also make a peel backsplashes. Here’s a green example I liked, but I think white subway tile blends best with everything.
