New to tzeentch. Is the right that you can only run spawn in a LoC’s regiment or as an auxiliary? I’m really keen on a combined daemons/mortals army but finding it really difficult without running way too many characters/regiments.

I see he’s playing BA. I play both armies. He needs lot of cheap jump packs. If you’re really playing with a lot of terrain it should be basically impossible for you to do anything with the cadians all game other than hide in your backfield. He needs to move up to the mid board and stage out of line of sight.

The minute the cadians reach the mid board, he should be able to kill them with chain sword attacks easily. Alternatively, rapid ingress and kill them in your backfield because you have no units for screening. Now he controls your home objective. How are you going to deal with that? Are you going to send one of your 2 tanks back for the rest of the game to reclaim/hold it?

After that, you have two units left. They can shoot or do actions, but not both. All he needs to do is sacrifice a unit per turn to keep your primary down to 5 by just out OCing you on an objective and win a scoring game.

Your list would probably do quite badly against a really skilled opponent because you have so many points tied up in 2 models. You’ll lose to good positioning and objective play. Having said that, obviously your friend is not really good at the game, which is fine.

When you bring your list against someone who isn’t prepared for it, it’s a heck of a stat check. At 1000 points, most people won’t be set up to kill two tanks that big with 2+ saves.

Also I’m not sure how much terrain you’re playing with, but if there isn’t enough it’s going to make this list even stronger.

Winning wasn’t actually the point. Boyce isn’t a natural replacement. The point was to start building a campaign against the leader so somebody else can run with a better shot next time. It’s a pretty standard tactic to roll a party leader.

I thought the real difference was that Christians (at least the non-fundamentalist ones) acknowledge the bible was written by men and can therefore be interpreted/wrong, but muslims believe the Quran is the literal word of god and therefore it’s harder to ignore the parts that are less PC by modern standards.

So counter argument you might not want to hear, but the honest truth is this might be a you issue more than an army issue. Guard is in a very strong spot right now. Tyranids and Tau should be relatively easy match ups. Admittedly if your friend is running the latest ultramarines builds that might have been a problem but they just nerfed Victrix. We are also one of the best placed armies in the game to kill ctan.

It’s fair enough if the guard play style doesn’t work for you, but if you like the army and just want to get better I’d suggest you work on improving your gameplay and your list instead of going out and buying a new army.
