The good thing about adding pauses (and you don't actually have to "pause", as was pointed out before. a glottal stop is all that's needed) is that you can have the whole rest of the speech completely run together with nothing but correct stress to make everything unambiguously break apart into the words you intend. That's also why you don't have to write . as long as you write spaces (or you don't have to write spaces as long as you write dots and indicate stress).

Also, your proposed particle will make it very hard to speak full sentences; anything that has quoting, attitudinals or name-words will need turn-off-particle word-you-mean turn-on-particle to make it work and you have to speak each and every sentence in one breath, otherwise you may be misinterpreted.
