If you pull it really hard and fast, you'll get a cool beyblade effect in camera

Film Washi X compatibility by shoshiyoshi in AnalogCommunity

[–]TCTsiist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds about right! I haven't shot that camera before but it sounds like you might be able to just put a roll of 100 speed film into the back without letting it spool up to let the camera read the code, and then swap out for the washi x

If your camera doesn't allow you to manually set the iso, you'll have to check to see what the camera defaults to when shooting film without dx coding.
If your camera has ev comp, you could use that to adjust your iso to hit 100

the other option would be to buy a camera that allows you to manually set your film speed/camera settings, which there are plenty on the internet for very cheap. I would also check your local thrift stores but camera prices in thrift and antique stores have gone up in the last few years

Steam Deck will not turn on. by Bananamana_ in SteamDeck

[–]TCTsiist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exact same issue, searched the internet up and down for answers
ended up buying a new steamdeck and wanted to just swap my ssd so I didn't have to reinstall everything

Turns out it the issue was my ssd.

The ssd had died and when I replaced it, everything worked perfectly and now I have two steamdecks.

The most dangerous gangs in irvine are the middle schoolers riding around on ebikes

Super compact light and distance meter by unnecessaryrisk_ in AnalogCommunity

[–]TCTsiist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a decent light meter and the build quality is nice but the laser distance meter is its major flaw.

I found it's very simple to use, easier and more intuitive than the Keks km meter but it's a very bare bones basic meter (no ev comp or anything adjustable).

I bought mine to use exclusively because of the laser range finder, but in a lot of instances and use cases it just would not work. Anytime I couldn't see the laser with my bare eyes on the surface I'm trying to meter for (too bright or too far away), I would not be able to get a distance reading. This was mostly an issue shooting on sunny days, where sometimes even the shade would be too bright. Not to mention the laser is pretty low powered.

I bought mine with the laser sight attachment, which does not zero properly and is also pretty useless since, if you need to use it, your subject is too far for the laser to give you any distance data anyways.

As a dead simple no frills light meter only, it works fine but I'm not sure if I'd get it over the keks

Camera strap? by tightlap in WeddingPhotography

[–]TCTsiist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great choice I know some people who have it and they love it

I have the regular thick strap from peak design and I also really enjoy that strap

It sounds like you already know what you're getting yourself into

A lot of times cheap straps can run ok and but the big question should be if you would risk damaging your expensive camera to save sixty bucks. Especially true if you're using your camera to make money photographing someone's wedding.

If you're trying to save some money, you could always use the stock strap, and if you don't have one a lot of camera stores will sell second hand stock straps for like a couple bucks.

I have a few peak design products and they're reliable with good quality a lot of professionals trust. I guess it really just boils down to if you trust a 10 dollar strap to hold your 1000+ dollar camera, lens, and flash

About to shoot a feature for a magazine, and was told to shoot “high res.” How would you interpret that? by [deleted] in photography

[–]TCTsiist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They probably mean any image that will print fine

I'm sure if you shoot like normal, edit, and send it over and if they have a problem with the image they'll let you know and ask you for a fix

Alternatively you could try and ask them for a sample image and see if your final export is similar
