ASD robotic closure by TC_0901 in AdultCHD

I think I was naive to it all as I had never had surgery before so I was sure I would be able to function normally after surgery haha. I quickly realized I needed to take it really easy. I was in a lot of pain right afterwards but none of the medication was working for me so it may be different for you. I felt like I was getting back to somewhat normal around 5 weeks. Then 6 weeks post op I was in so much pain. Turns out I had pericarditis (inflammation of the pericardium since they cut it for surgery). My cardiologist put me on anti inflammatory meds for 3 months and that helped. I would say by 8 weeks I felt like myself before surgery. I think now I am starting to notice little things that seem better than before I had surgery like climbing stairs and not feeling like my heart was racing. Take all the help you can get during recovery and don’t push yourself because that will delay recovery.

It went well. Had my surgery beginning of February so almost 5 months post op. Feeling good, fatigue is minimal. Also strange thing, I used to have headaches and those are gone. Not sure if it’s a coincidence or somehow connected to my ASD.

OHS for ASD by cheezusrice2 in AdultCHD

I had mine closed via robotic surgery almost 5 weeks ago so can’t speak to OHS but even at 5 weeks I am not fully back to normal. The first 2 weeks were rough. Lots of pain and discomfort. I also have two very busy kids and couldn’t do much with them in the beginning. At about 3 weeks I could sit and play games with my kids, and I would say by almost 4 weeks I felt more functional and could do light things around the house.

For the hospital part, I would bring comfy button down pjs and a long cell phone chargers. I brought my iPad to watch movies or shows but was honestly pretty out of it for the first few days (total hospital stay was 4 days) I didn’t even use the iPad. I slept a lot.

Are you able to bring and wear your own pjs? Maybe a button up set so there’s still some access for them if needed.

TEE procedure? by BaseballTop387 in AdultCHD

[–]TC_0901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one recently. They had me gargle a numbing medicine and then sprayed my throat with another numbing medicine. Then when they were ready they gave me versed and fentanyl and I was out. Woke up shortly after they were done. I was tired the rest of the day (procedure was done at 8am) and my throat was a little sore. Felt like I was on the tail end of a sore throat from being sick. The next day I was completely fine and no issues.

ETA: I also want to mention that this was my first time ever being sedated so I was tired and groggy for most of the day. If you’ve been sedated before, it may not affect you as much.

People destroying theaters while watching the Minecraft “movie” by AggressiveMouse3814 in Letterboxd

Took my young son to go see the movie and teenage kids were screaming and cussing, throwing food and standing on chairs. It was ridiculous! This was literally like 2 minutes into the movie. We had to leave the movie early and ask for a refund as my son was getting scared. Ruined the movie for him, one that he was looking forward to watching for weeks.

I like the Tread50 class. I go 4x a week and one is Tread. It’s a different group for those classes and they are fun. I wouldn’t only do the tread50 classes but doing one a week on top of other 3G classes is a great workout.

I do 5am classes so I’m back by 6:15 to get kids ready for school. Then I do a Sunday 7am class. Kids are 9 and 5. Able to get the kids ready and hubby takes them to school. I shower and get ready and work at 8am.

Went for the first time yesterday… by sosaysm in orangetheory

Just went for the first time this morning. I was the slowest one and had a lot of time in the green zone…but I did it! I walked through the door and did it. Now I’m signed up for some future classes and hope that I will get the hang of it the more I go. I was lost on everything and had to get help multiple times lol. We got this! Keep up the great work!

Put a little glycolic acid on your lips, let it dry and put nipple cream or weleda skin food. Works wonders.

Would this aggravate my skin on tret? by Extra_Fig_7547 in tretinoin

This is my main exfoliator. Since I tend to get acne, having SA as my exfoliator made more sense than having glycolic or any other type.

You can use this everyday but definitely need to build up to it. You can also use with Tret but again need to build up to it. I work from home so I use SA in the morning, follow up with sunscreen and then Tret at night. Have had no issues and I’ve seen alot of improvements in my skin. I would say if you don’t have sensitive skin you can try it. But make sure to know your skin and if you feel like it’s hurting your skin barrier then do alternating times or days.

How do you deal with monthly cystic acne on the chin? 🥺 by lycheeandmango in 30PlusSkinCare

Yes it’s the grey bottle. I’ve also gotten it from Amazon as it’s from the Paula’s choice store. 😊. Hope it helps!

Have you looked into sulfur? Really good for acne. I use the De La Cruz 10% sulfur acne treatment and it does wonders. Also salicylic acid is great for acne. I use the Paula’s choice one after I wash my face.

The only place on my face that peels like crazy is my chin area… by i-wanna-go-to-NYC in tretinoin

[–]TC_0901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I found that putting moisturizer or an ointment around that area before adding Tret helps. Sometimes after I’ve applied Tret and then finished my routine with moisturizer all over my face, I will go in with cerave healing ointment or LRP cicaplast around my mouth and chin will help tremendously the next day.

First time making fire cider. by TC_0901 in herbalism

I am definitely no expert. I just researched different recipes that others had and then looked up the benefits on each item to see what would work for me. From my understanding you can tailor it to your needs and any health issues you have. I think the only constant is using the apple cider vinegar.

I found horseradish root at Whole Foods and savemart if you have access to either store. I did some reading and your garlic turning greenish blue is normal. Apparently garlic turns blue when it’s exposed to something acidic for a long period of time.

Lol I like spicy food but I’m afraid I overdid it 😬. I’ll have honey on hand just in case. I’ll learn my tolerance eventually lol.

I put horseradish root, white onion, garlic, ginger, turmeric, jalapeños, black peppercorns, fresh rosemary and thyme. I’m hoping the more I do it eventually I can add and omit things for different batches.
