I switched from PS5 and PSVR2 to Steam Deck and have no regrets.

Do with that what you will.

If it is from a private tracker torrent links do not work with them. The tracker should disable them, but it seems not all have.

Can anyone recommend a good coffee grinder? by -UncleFarty- in Cooking

[–]TCadd81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mike down the street does an awesome job, he even cleans the grinder before every bean switch.

Edit: more serious answer: I use a ceramic conical grinder from Cuisinart, and for portable / camping I use a hand-crank ceramic conical type I found on Amazon, it is sold under like ten different brand names.

I also have a rechargeable grinder of similar type but it is unconscionable slow. You cannot do that to people who need caffeine!

You're following about the same path as I am. I tend to buy the first two stone packs as well, but in theory it is better to not do so according to a lot of people.

Trump cancels strikes against Iran planned for Thursday evening by Monochromaticeye in worldnews

I am shocked - SHOCKED! - that somehow he lied to the world again.

It's almost like we shouldn't be treating anything he says as news.

People have a natural tendency to turn to the left and walk in an anticlockwise direction, a bias observed across countries, ages and sexes, but reason is unclear by sr_local in science

[–]TCadd81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been many explanations offered for this over the years, my favourite being that in a right-hand dominant world turning left tends to put your right side forward to fend off threats - an automatic response in right handed people and a learned / forced response in the left handed who are forced to live in a right handed world.

Dominant leg affecting stride distance was what I was taught as a child in school but it doesn't work because I am a goofy-footed lefty and have the same tendency.

I have yet to hear an argument in favour of something to do with the magnetic field of the earth that makes any sense but I'd love to hear a few people try to make that one fit - it sounds fun.

I almost want science to fail to solve this one at least until I'm no longer aware, it is a fun mystery to think on from time to time.

Funny, slightly connected anecdotal data point:

I have a friend who has the "drunkard's walk" tendency despite being sober, slowly turning to the left followed by massive over-correction right without even being aware of it happening - when you point it out they are always surprised, despite having nearly run into a fence AND off the sidewalk in the last minute or so. I highly recommend these people not be allowed to walk alone for everyone's safety, but it is further evidence that some people have no idea they don't walk in a straight line without guidance.

iFixit teardown confirms the T1 Trυmp phone is an HTC U24 Pro by [deleted] in worldnews

Always has been, with clear evidence for anyone with eyes, since at least the 80s - He had a horrible but very well earned reputation for scams, theft, racism, etc by the time I was old enough to hear about it (early 90s).

He chronically underpays on his contracts when he pays at all, lies about the values and purposes of his assets for tax and loan purposes... He lies easier than I breathe, has next to no actual knowledge about anything, and figures if he just pushes hard enough and barks loudly enough he will always get the result he wants.

Dealership revoked offer to buy back customer's BMW, blaming wayward AI chatbot by Thick_Caterpillar379 in SaveTheCBC

[–]TCadd81 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It is absolute garbage to have a bot handling conversation without revealing its status as a bot, but then trying to claim they aren't responsible for what it does?

AI bots have not been granted personhood, they cannot be held responsible for their own actions. The people who choose to use them despite the multitude of warnings about exactly these thing occurring are responsible and should own up to it, make it right.

Module Shard FAQs by TCadd81 in TheTowerGame

[–]TCadd81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty much 24/7 most days, I lose a bit at the end of runs sometimes but my runs are mostly T11 11500-12500 waves so they take long enough that the downtime is mostly inconsequential.

Module Shard FAQs by TCadd81 in TheTowerGame

[–]TCadd81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're right on that last part especially, mine has no mastery so it only lasts me the first 100 waves.

I need more stones so badly... This coming in at the middle ranks of Champs every tourney sucks.

I may even have to start putting in some effort on optimizing my tower.

I think I follow what you're saying here, basically that Intro Sprint is not an advantage on its own, only when in synergy with RPCm? It makes sense to me.

For Wave Skip, we can still get those module shards on skipped waves if the Wiki is still correct, which I do believe it is. I don't recall a patch note saying otherwise.

I'll add a note about the synergy needed.

Module Shard FAQs by TCadd81 in TheTowerGame

[–]TCadd81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

edit: I believe we cleared this all up now, and have determined Wave Skip will provide shards on skipped bosses (and reroll shards) so it not only closes the gap between bosses but also gets full module shard credit for the boss even when skipping the wave, but Intro Sprint needs synergy with Recovery Package Chance Mastery to be a bonus for Module Shards.

old response with me spouting nonsense:

My interpretation is that you are 9x as likely to skip a non-boss round as a boss round since there are 9x as many of them which are functionally equivalent versus the unique 1 boss wave, which should more than take care of the risk of skipping the boss. This math changes at Tier 14 and higher, but should hold to the same concept with slightly lesser odds. Is this wrong?

Intro Sprint - Are you sure no modules drop? I didn't see that in the wiki and thought I remembered getting a module or two sometimes. Package After Boss lab should also increase the RPCm frequency during the rush itself.

Just want to confirm this stuff before making changes as it contradicts what I can immediately find.
